On Friday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 7, 2022.
The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 110 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, no new recoveries, and 1 new death. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 104,646, while the active cases jumped to 590 (from 481).

– Total confirmed: 13,705 (+13 new)

– Total confirmed: 12,193 (+18 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,700 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 443 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 50
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 37,296 (+20 new)
– Total recoveries: 34,479 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 2,574 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 243
