10 Soju Cocktails you can easily try at home

Alcohol nights and inuman sessions will now temporarily have to be conducted at home where it’s safe.

But that doesn’t mean that we won’t have fun experimenting on tasty drinks in our own home. Well, don’t fret because we’ve got you covered mate. Your favorite soju drink will have a bit of delicious transformation as we present here some easy-to-make soju cocktails

1. Soju Bomb (Soju + Beer) & Coke

Soju bomb also known as somaek (soju + beer) is very popular and is the drink you’ll want when catching up with friends. It’s a quick way to get that buzz on and mixes well together. You can also add coke to add sweetness to your drink.

Mixture:

  • Golden ratio: 30% Soju + 70% Beer
  • Gentle and smooth: 10% Soju+ 90% Beer
  • Blackout: 50% Soju+ 50% Beer

2. Soju Latte (Soju + Coffee)

Yup. We want to get drunk but also be as awake as possible. A mixture of coffee and soju will definitely wake you up with its content and unique taste.

You can use any coffee you’d like if you have favorites. But it is recommended to use Nescafe’s coffee in can because it’s easily available at any convenience store.

Mixture:

  • 1 glass Coffee
  • 2 shots of Soju

3. Yogurt Soju (Yakult/Dutch Mill + Soju)

This is the perfect lazy evening drink. Yakult have always been our go-to drink when we were little but this time it got an upgrade adult version. Simply mix Yakult and Soju together or any yogurt drink you have available to create a sweet concoction. The yogurt drink conceals the bitter taste of the alcohol so this is a no-fail easy-to-make cocktail.

Mixture:

  • 1 Yakult
  • 2 shots of Soju

4. Fruity Soju (Pineapple/Mango/Lemon/Orange + Soju)

A refreshing cocktail for a hot day might just be what you want. Have any fruit juice that is available to you or your preferred taste and mix it with soju. Soju will cut through the acidity of the fruit juices, so the sourness doesn’t linger long on your palate. Don’t forget to pop in some ice cubes too for that thirst-quenching drink.

Mixture:

  • 1 glass Pineapple/Mango/Lemon/Orange Juice
  • 2 shots of Soju

5. Soju Melona (Melona + Soju + Sprite)

A creamy kick? We have that too. You’ve probably heard of Melona, a popular ice-cream in Korea that is famous even here in the Philippines. Pour into a cup, soju and sprite, then stir a Melona bar in until it dissolves.

Melona also comes in 4 different flavors: banana, honeydew, mango and strawberry, so you’ll have your pick.

Mixture:

  • 2 Melona ice cream bars
  • 1 bottle of soju
  • 1 can of Sprite

6. Energizer Soju (Soju + Gatorade + Pineapple Juice)

This drink has been going around the country known for its color which is why it earned its name blue soju. This is your drink to refuel your energy for your work-from-home. Mixing soju, Gatorade and pineapple juice may sound nasty but it is the kind of drink that grows on you.

Mixture:

  • 2 shots of soju 
  • ½ glass Gatorade 
  • 1 can pineapple juice

7. Watermelon Soju

If you’d like a blended cocktail drink then this is for you. Also called Subak Soju, this drink is made from blending watermelon with soju. You can even use the remaining watermelon shell as its bowl to drink from.

Mixture:

  • 1 Watermelon
  • 1 Bottle of Soju
  • 1 Cup of Ice

8. Mogu Soju (soju + Mogu Mogu drink+Yakult)

Who would guess that your favorite chewy drink Mogu Mogu is a great mix with soju. The presence of nata de coco in the Mogu Mogu drink creates added texture in every sip just like milktea and pearls but make it alcoholic. Add in Yakult or a strawberry milk drink to add more flavors to your drink.

Mixture:

  • ½ bottle of Mogu Mogu
  • 2 shots of Soju
  • ½ glass of yakult

9. Soju Tea (Soju+Tea)

Tea time and biscuits have never been more lit. Color your afternoon tea by brewing a pot of your favorite tea (best with white or peach tea) and adding a shot of soju. You can also add honey or lemon in the mix for rich flavors.

10. Soju Ale (Soju+ Ginger ale+ Apple slices)

Ginger ale and apple slices will make a tasty cocktail when paired with soju. The crisp sweetness from the ginger ale and green apple slices makes for an interesting flavor with soju. This drink is perfect for the gram as well as it will look classy.

Mixture:

  • ½ glass ginger ale
  • 2 shots of soju
  • Apple slices

There you have it, as they just pick your poison and drink to your hearts contents safely at home.
