NO RT-PCR Test for Fully Vaxxed in some PH Destinations

To travel without these pandemic restrictions is the dream, and we are slowly going there.

AirAsia, one of the best low-cost airline in the world, have added four destinations in the Philippines that does not require the mandatory quarantine and negative RT-PCR test for fully vaccinated travelers arriving from Metro Manila.

RT-PCR tests and quarantine although it was necessary before is truly an inconvenience for us travelers especially when it’s just within the country and so this announcement is breath of relief.

Travelers entering the following areas will only need to upload the digital copy of their vaccination cards for the S-Pass as an entry requirement.

Areas that don’t require RT-PCR test

  • Bacolod
  • Iloilo
  • Tacloban
  • Cagayan de Oro City
  • Cebu Province

It was quite long ago though for Cebu Province. The province has abandoned this requirement regardless of vaccine status, and instead requires only a medical certificate. The certificate should be taken 24 hours prior to departure date for confirmation that guests do not manifest any of the symptoms of covid-19.

  • Davao
  •  General Santos City
  • Puerto Princesa

“The noticeable increase in seats sold and our healthy load factor shows that we are ending 2021 with a very strong path to recovery. Due to strong pent up demand we are confident that the increased flight frequency will support our guests’ clamor to fly again and reconnect with their families in the provinces,”

 – Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines spokesperson

The easing of restrictions is no excuse though to not follow the minimum safety protocols. Let us all follow them and keep each other safe as we slowly transition back to normal.
