On Sunday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of October 17, 2021.
Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 47 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 62 new recoveries, and 2 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 103,056, while the active cases increased to 2,492 (from 2,508).
Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 40,890 (+24 new)
– Total recoveries: 38,583 (+29 new)
– Total deaths: 1,444 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 863
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 13,533 (+2 new)
– Total recoveries: 10,331 (+11 new)
– Total deaths: 310 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 232
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 12,072 (+5 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,438 (+20 new)
– Total deaths: 412 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 222
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 36,561 (+16 new)
– Total recoveries: 33,039 (+2 new)
– Total deaths: 2,347 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 1,175
