On Friday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of August 6, 2021.
Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 1,160 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 418 new recoveries, and 29 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 71,940, while the active cases increased to 9,999 (from 9,283).

Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 31,377 (+329 new)
– Total recoveries: 27,061 (+181 new)
– Total deaths: 972 (+6 new)
– Active cases: 3,344
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 9,270 (+136 new)
– Total recoveries: 7,596 (+70 new)
– Total deaths: 205 (+2 new)
– Active cases: 1,469
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 8,740 (+198 new)
– Total recoveries: 7,105 (+13 new)
– Total deaths: 260 (+3 new)
– Active cases: 1,375
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 22,553 (+497 new)
– Total recoveries: 17,774 (+154 new)
– Total deaths: 968 (+18 new)
– Active cases: 3,811
