Pfizer begins clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccine in US

Another possible vaccine is set to be ready later this year.

According to Pfizer, a major American pharmaceutical corporation, their coronavirus vaccine should be ready by September or October this year.

On Tuesday, Pfizer Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla said that a coronavirus vaccine for emergency use could be ready by the autumn and for broader roll out by the end of 2020.

They have started testing the vaccine in Germany, on humans, with BioNTech. They have high hopes to also begin testing in America.

The development of vaccines could take months, even years, but the researchers are hurtling towards human trials. Because the virus is not mutating and is similar to those in the past, they are not really having that much of a hard time.

Pfizer has started mass manufacturing while trials are underway. They are even aiming for hundred of millions of doses to be ready for the end of the year.

While the world is still suffering heavily from this pandemic, we could help in our own little ways. By staying at home and practicing proper hygiene, we could help flatten the curve. If not today, in the days or weeks to come.
