The Tourism of Cebu has been in hault die to the pandemic, leaving those who have been depending on tourism in a struggle during this crisis.

Garcia had said that instead of viewing tourism as a leisure activity, which likes are being discouraged due to the threat of COVID-19, the provincial government views tourism as an economic driver.

“We will focus now on the resumption of tourism activities in many of our towns, such as whale watching, canyoneering, thresher shark watching, and a lot of other activities,”

  1. Virus cases are under reported by at least 10 fold. Too many people have had little to no income for too long. Backriding on a motorcycle is still illegal. Foreigners, who bring new money to the Philippines are shut out. Most residents of Cebu City are tightly locked down, maybe until September. 21 + under, and 60 + up, are locked down 24/7, indefinitely.

Fair to say that tourism in Cebu will take a very long time to return, years probably.

God bless + good luck! Let us know how things work out for you.
