“Celebrate Cebu” will be the new catchphrase and is expected to be uttered in a number of different ways – as a declaration of pride, expression of delight, or even a sign of exasperation.
Visiting Cebu will have the same feeling of excitement, but with a different kind of branding. But one thing is for sure, regardless of how it is used, it will become a significant part of the local culture and vernacular starting today.
The new Cebu City Tourism brand was unveiled last night, January 15, 2020 during The Gala held at The Grand Convention Center. The tagline: “Celebrate Cebu” will be used in the reactivated promotion of Cebu City as a travel and convention destination of the South.
To fully promote the events, tours, farm sights, spiritual, adventure and sports tourism, hotels, food outlets, medical facility, and retail outlets, we will now be having a pro-active site and all the best of Cebu will be highlighted.
“The passengers who came to Cebu numbering about 11,524,000 coming from all over the world just to be here in Cebu. And then long after, a year after, as of December 31, 2019, 850,000 additional passengers coming from all over the world came to Cebu and we have a record 12,320,000 came to Cebu as tourists and returning residents, and as balikbayans,”– Cebu City Mayor Edgar Labella
This alone says a lot about the re-branding and we couldn’t agree more. Having a big chunk of tourists coming to our beloved Cebu to experience the beauty of our place is enough reason to “Celebrate Cebu.”
May this serve as a reminder to everyone to always be responsible laagans and to preserve the beauty of the place we call home.”
