Cebu COVID-19 cases breach 14,000 mark on July 21

On Tuesday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) has released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of July 21, 2020.

Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 293 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 185 new recoveries, and 13 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 14,056 while the active cases are at 6,994.

Breakdown of cases:

📍 Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 8,302 (+147 today)
– Total recoveries: 4,583 (+107 today)
– Total deaths: 415 (+3 today)
– Active cases: 3,304

📍 Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 1,555 (+45 today)
– Total recoveries: 483 (+19 today)
– Total deaths: 55 (+1 today)
– Active cases: 1,017

📍 Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 1,530 (+36 today)
– Total recoveries: 474 (+17 today)
– Total deaths: 63 (+3 today)
– Active cases: 993

📍 Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 2,669 (+65 today)
– Total recoveries: 843 (+42 today)
– Total deaths: 146 (+6 today)
– Active cases: 1,680

  • Total Active Cases in Cebu: 6,994
  • Total Confirmed Cases in Cebu: 14,056 (+293 new)
  • Total Recoveries in Cebu: 6,383 (+185 new)
  • Total Deaths in Cebu: 679 (+13 new)

According to DOH-7, a total of 1,666 laboratory results were released from the following; VSMCC Subnational Laboratory (628), Cebu TB Reference Laboratory (912, ARC Hospital (0) and Prime Care (126).
