The first and only Museum of Naïve Art (MONA) in the Philippines is now open at Paulina Constancia Museum of Naïve Art in Carcar city and it looks like a haven for artists!

Naïve art, which is roughly defined as a visual art made by the artists who did not undergo formal education taken by professional artists, will leave you in awe. The styles are free and eccentric.

Paulina’s art brings us in touch with a seemingly distant and almost imaginary world in which people are still connected to nature and each other.

Also, the mangrove forest and permaculture farm add color and life to the museum experience. Let the sleeping artist inside us waken and walk through the doors of Paulina Constancia Museum of Naïve Art.

Paulina Constancia Museum of Naïve Art is located in Carcar City of southern Cebu and can be visited by group admission and appointment only.

How to get there?

Exact location: Bacsije, Ocaña, Carcar City, Cebu — 2 hours away from the city.

BY CAR: It’s best to bring your own car or motorbike going there. Just navigate with Waze and search for “Bacsije Road, Carcar City, Cebu”. From there, ask around where you can find the naive art. Parking space is available. Hailing a taxi/Grab is not possible, better rent a car instead.

BY COMMUTE: From the South Bus Terminal, ride any bus and tell the driver to drop you off at Codilla Store in Carcar, few meters after Ocana Central Elementary School. Bus fare is ₱50 (one-way) and travel time is about 2 hours. From there, ride a tricycle going to the naive farm.
