Ilihan Bridge: The Newest Attraction in Toledo City

A new attraction in the west side of Cebu has recently gone viral on social media. But it was unforeseen, unexpected.

In a certain angle, the river under the newly rehabilitated Ilihan Bridge in Toledo City actually looks like a giant outdoor, natural pool. The reason why it became an instant hit on social media. But the bridge was built with a purpose to reduce the traffic problem of the city and was not meant to be a tourist attraction.

As of this writing, access to the river under the bridge is free, so many can swim and enjoy the cool and refreshing fresh water. However, we think this may not last long for security and sustainability purposes.

Due to the large influx of visitors since Monday this week, the Toledo City Tourism recently urged local leaders and personnel of the police station to formulate security plans to hamper possible threat to human security and other related matters.

Planning to visit? Be a Responsible Laagan!

It is not yet advisable to visit the bridge as of this time (Feb-Mar 2019) because it is not yet tourist-ready. People, most especially the residents and those living in nearby towns, have been flocking to this new bridge.

The river has not yet been confirmed also to be safe for swimming, and may affect your health if you insist.
