Dalaguete has showcased its utmost riches from history to its waters down to its great hikes. Here are Dalaguete’s 10 wonderfully crafted go-to-places.

 

1. Osmeña Peak

The Dalaguete’s ever astonishing Osmeña Peak, which stands at 1,013 meters above sea level (MASL), is quiet rejuvenating as you go up to the mountains as it is also time for the sun to rise in the early morning.

It is, definitely, one of the mostly visited spots and the pride of this municipality. You can bring your loved ones there and spend the rest of the day and even the night/s as you create astounding memories with them to cherish.

  • Bus Fare (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete’s Junction for Osmeña Peak) – Php120. 00
  • Distance (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete’s Junction for Osmeña Peak) – 100.4 kms.
  • Travel Time (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete’s Junction for Osmeña Peak) – 3 hours and 2 minutes
  • Travel Time (Dalaguete’s Junction for Osmeña Peak to Osmeña Peak trailhead) – about 1 hour
  • Motorbike Fare – Php 100.00
  • Travel time (Osmeña Peak trailhead to the mountain peak by walk) – about 30 minutes

How to get there?

From South Bus terminal, take a bus bound for Alcoy and pay the bus fare. Be sure to inform the conductor or the bus driver to drop you off at Dalaguete’s junction for Osmeña Peak. At the point, you can actually see landmarks such as 7-Eleven and Julie’s Bakeshop right across it. Then, you can ride a motorbike going to Osmeña Peak’s trailhead from that junction. As you reach the trailhead, you have to pay the entrance fee. Then, start the trekking!

 

2. Kandungaw Peak

  • Travel Time (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete Proper) – about 3 hours
  • Motorbike Fare (Dalaguete Proper to Kandungaw Peak) – Php150.00

How to get there?

Take a bus bound for Dalaguete. Then, ask the conductor or bus driver to drop you off at Dalaguete Proper. To ask the motorbike driver that you wish to go to Kandungaw Peak and ride is your next step. Finally, as you arrive at the trailhead, pay for the entrance fee. Then, explore!

 

3. Casino Peak

Casino Peak, also known as Lugsangan Peak, is famous for its “Chocolate Hill-like mounds” located in Lugsangan, Tabon, Dalaguete Cebu. Casino Peak offers a jaw-dropping sight of the green landscapes and peaks that will surely remind you of Bohol’s famous hills. However, hikers need to be cautious because of its rocky terrain and vegetables planted in the nooks.

How to get there?

– From the South Bus Terminal, take a bus going to Dalaguete. Drop off at Dalaguete junction or town center in front of 7-Eleven Dalaguete. Fare is ~P120 per head. 2.5-3 hours travel from Cebu City.
– Take a habal-habal ride to Lugsangan for P150 per head. Tell the driver you’re going to Casino Peak as there are several peaks in Dalaguete.

 

4. Sergio’s Strawberry Farm

Regarded as the Summer Capital of Cebu, Dalaguete introduces its new strawberry farm located in Brgy. Mantalongon.

  • Fare (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete Proper) – Php 120.00
  • Travel Time (South Bus Terminal to Dalaguete Proper) – about 3 hours
  • Motorbike Fare (Dalaguete Proper to Strawberry Farm, Mantalongon) – Php 150.00
  • Travel Time (Dalaguete Proper to Strawberry Farm, Mantalongon) – 51 minutes
  • Entrance Fee – Php 50.00/head
  • Price of Strawberries – Php 800.00/kg
How to get there?

Take a bus bound for Dalaguete, Cebu. Then, ask the conductor or bus driver to drop you off at Dalaguete Proper. To negotiate the motorbike driver in going to the Strawberry Farm is your next step. Finally, as you arrive at the farm, pay for the entrance fee. Then, buy and savor!

 

5. Obong Spring

Where the 400-year old Dakit tree stays, the Obong Spring unceasingly unveils its natural beauty and purpose.

  • Fare (South Bus Terminal to Obong Spring Highway)- Php 120.00
  • Distance (South Bus Terminal to Obong Spring Highway)- 90.8 kms.
  • Travel Time (South Bus Terminal to Obong Spring Highway)- 2 hours and 17 minutes
  • Entrance Fee – Php 5.00/head (Please refer to the information board.)
How to get there?

Take a bus bound for Dalaguete, Cebu. Then, ask the conductor or bus driver to drop you off at Obong Spring Highway. Then, right across where you must go down from the bus, you can see a sign board (Please refer to the photo with the “Welcome to Obong Spring”.). Have your short walk towards the destination. Finally, pay for the entrance fee. Then, seize the calm waters and relaxing view!

 

6. San Guillermo de Aquitania Church

Dalaguete has quitely been showcasing its humble tutelage–the historic church of San Guillermo de Aquitania Church. So, go and pay a visit to this sacred place!

  • Fare (South Bus Terminal to San Guillermo de Aquitania Church)- Php 120.00
  • Distance from Cebu City – 90.7 kms.
  • Travel time from Cebu City – 2 hours and 9 minutes
How to get there?

From South Bus Terminal, take a bus bound for Alcoy. Then, ask the conductor to drop you off at Poblacion,Dalaguete. Moreover, from the highway, you can take a short walk towards the church. Visit and don’t forget to pray!

 

7. Kulabyaw Cave

Before reaching Osmeña Peak, the highest peak among the Mantalongon range, trekkers pass through a cave where it is famous for its thousands of bats and other nocturnal denizens flying in and out of the cave. That’s why it is called Kulabyaw Cave.

 

8. Sunflower Garden

The Sunflower Garden or the “I Love Dalaguete Flower Farm” is the newest attraction in Mantalongon, Dalaguete — it was opened just early this year. It features at least 400 sunflowers and not less than 16 other flower species. The blooming season usually happens every April-May and September-October.

  • Entrance fee: P50 per head
  • Operating hours: 8AM to 5PM, Mondays to Sundays (as of March 2018)
How to get there?

From the South Bus Terminal, ride any bus bound for Dalaguete. Inform the driver or conductor to drop you off at 7-Eleven Dalaguete. Bus fare is ~P120 (one-way).

From there, ride a motorbike (habal-habal) going to the Sunflower Garden. Fare is P50 per person (one-way).

 

9. Dalaguete Beach Park (Casay Beach)

Not too many people know Dalaguete in Southern Cebu is not only popular for its scenic mountain peaks like Osmena Peak, Kandungaw Peak and Casino Peak a.k.a. the Little Chocolate Hills of Cebu. Tagged as the “Summer Capital of Cebu”, Dalaguete lives up to its tagline with this beautiful public white beach – the Dalaguete Beach Park.

  • Entrance fee: P30 per adult; P15 per child
  • Parking fee: P20
  • Table Rental: P250 for day use
  • Cottage: P350 (small); P1,500 (big)
  • Operating hours: 7AM to 5PM only

How to get there?

From the South Bus Terminal, ride any bus bound for Dalaguete. Inform the driver or conductor to drop you off at Dalaguete Beach Park (or public beach of Dalaguete). Bus fare is ~P120 (one-way).

The beach is 10-15 minutes walk away from the main road. But you can opt to ride a tricycle for P50 (good for 3pax).

 

10. The Beachhouse

Rest and comfort yourself with this newly established beach resort in Dalaguete, located at National Highway, Balud, Dalaguete, Cebu

  • Executive room: P3,800 /night good for 4pax or P2,800 /night good for 2pax
  • Standard room: P1,200 /night good for 2pax
  • Walk-ins are not allowed. Make sure to book first before going to the resort.
  • Corkage: Outside food and drinks are STRICTLY NOT allowed. They have a chef who can cook anything you want; you can also request any food or drinks.
  • Online booking: AirBnB — register first on AirBnB then search for “The Beachhouse in Dalaguete” to book online.

    How to get there?

    It’s recommended to bring your own vehicle for convenience. You may navigate via Waze and search for “The Beachhouse” in Dalaguete.

    If you opt to commute, just ride a bus going to Dalaguete from the South Bus Terminal. The resort is not yet popular among bus drivers, so just inform the driver to drop you off 300 meters past Ocean Bay Resort in Dalaguete. Or better navigate via Waze while on your way.
