Officially launched this July, this P9.2 billion joint venture is Cebu Landmasters’ international partnership and the bold entry of Japan’s NTT Urban Development Asia (NTT UD Asia) into the Philippine real estate market. A Master-Planned Landmark

Tower 1, officially named The Wave Towers Nagomi, rises 40 storeys high and houses 709 units across 35 residential floors. It is the first of two towers, with the second reserved for future development. True to its name, “Nagomi” evokes peace, calm, and balance, values that resonate throughout the design, layout, and amenities of the tower.

There’s something heartwarming about places that carry stories. Some cafés were born from passion, and some resorts started with a dream. But Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa? This one was born out of love, literally.

This isn’t your usual spa story. The Tenderbody branch in Raintree used to be the Sunday afternoon tambayan of the current owner’s parents. It was their go-to date spot; massage first, maybe dinner after. The Tamiya branch in Lapu-Lapu City was the couple’s go-to for their weekday dates. Years later, after the mother passed away, the father bought the spa out of pure sentimentality. “This is where our love grew,” he must’ve thought. He kept the name, Tenderbody, a mouthful but heartfelt, and turned it into something more. When he too passed away, the responsibility (and the legacy) was passed on to their child, who now continues to run the business with the same love it was built on.

Now with three branches, Tamiya and two in Raintree Mall, Tenderbody isn’t just a spa. It’s a space filled with stories, family ties, and a lot of warm oil.

Let’s address the elephant in the room. When people hear “spa” in Cebu, there’s unfortunately still that lingering assumption that services go beyond what’s on the menu. Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa wants to end that.

As of June 1, 2025, Tenderbody launched Gift Certificates, the greatest gift of relaxation for friends and family who might not usually treat themselves. These GCs are valid for 6 months and serve as a lovely introduction to the spa.

We Got Massaged, Ventosa’d, and Almost Didn’t Want to Leave

We came to Tenderbody Therapeutic Massage & Spa out of curiosity, and left feeling like warm, happy marshmallows. That’s the best way to describe the experience, light, relaxed, and stress-free.

Joshua, our social media manager, booked a foot massage and almost didn’t make it past the first 20 minutes as he got *that* relaxed. He had to fight off sleep just to enjoy the full session. Grace, our head of sales, wasn’t as resistant. She chose the hot stone massage and completely knocked out mid-session. She woke up dazed, dreamy, and swore she’s never felt that kind of calm in weeks.

Cody, our ever-game team manager, tried the head and full-body massage. He was giggling half the time as it turns out he’s a little ticklish, but even he admitted he’d do it again in a heartbeat. As for me, I went all in with the ventosa massage, a combination of cupping therapy and full-body massage. Every cup, every glide, every release of pressure felt like someone carefully untying the knots in my soul, and inside every muscle on my back!

What made it all better was the space itself. The moment you step in, you’re greeted with the soothing scent of peppermint, dim lighting, calm music, and a peaceful energy that makes your brain stop racing. It’s the kind of place where your shoulders automatically drop, your phone stays in your bag, and your only task is to breathe and let go.

We’ve been to quite a few massage spots around Cebu, but Tenderbody stands out. There’s no gimmick here, just sincere service, skilled hands, and an atmosphere built for healing. It’s a spa with heart, and you can genuinely feel it from the moment you lie down.

So yes, we got massaged, ventosa’d, and pampered. If you’re overdue for a good reset, trust us, this is the place to go.

Deep in the northern highlands of Cebu lies a destination that remains largely untouched by mainstream tourism

Binuthan Cave, located in Sitio Morga, Barangay Bonbon, within the quiet municipality of Tabogon. Known for its unique cave-waterfall formation, underground passageways, and physically demanding terrain, Binuthan Cave offers a raw, immersive adventure experience that is ideal for experienced hikers and thrill-seekers.

The Trail to Binuthan Cave

Upon arriving in Sitio Morga, visitors are encouraged to hire a local guide due to the unmarked and rugged terrain. The trail to the cave begins behind the local residences and leads through vegetable farms, banana plantations, and flower fields, many of which serve as the community’s main source of livelihood.

The trek to Binuthan Cave typically takes one hour. The trail is mostly downhill and becomes increasingly steep, muddy, and slippery as hikers approach the cave. While the hike may seem manageable at first, the final portion involves ascending and descending wet boulders, and crossing shallow streams, making it important to wear appropriate footwear and bring only essential items.

Cave Features and Conditions

Binuthan Cave is notable for a waterfall that flows directly from its mouth, cascading down large rock formations into a natural pool below. Entry into the cave requires swimming approximately 10 meters across water that reaches depths of up to 12 meters.

Inside, the cave’s passage narrows considerably. Visitors must pull themselves through tight rock corridors where swimming is no longer possible. Instead, progress is made by climbing along jagged stone surfaces, with parts of the path consisting of chest-deep to knee-deep water.

The cave is a fascinating natural wonder, showcasing crystalline rock formations and layers of minerals that captivate the eye. As you navigate its depths, the knife-like textures of the stones demand slow and careful movement, ensuring safety on this uneven terrain. Hidden within the cave are surprise sinkholes and vertical drops, some plunging over five meters deep, adding an element of thrill to the exploration.

Throughout the cave, stunning natural pools reflect the light, creating mesmerizing surfaces that dance across varying geological structures, each turn revealing yet another layer of beauty.

Because of the risks and complexity involved, proper physical fitness is essential. The full cave exploration can last up to two hours, depending on group size and water conditions. Due to the cave’s darkness, limited mobility, and constant water exposure, taking photos inside can be difficult and is not recommended without waterproof equipment.

Environmental Note

Binuthan Cave remains undeveloped and free from commercialization. Visitors are reminded to practice Leave No Trace principles and respect the natural environment and local community. The area is maintained solely by the efforts of residents who provide guiding services on request.

How To Get There?

Exact Location: Sitio Morga, Barangay Bonbon, Tabogon, Cebu, Philippines 

  • By Commute: Binuthan Cave is situated in the mountainous interior of Tabogon, approximately three to four hours from Cebu City. To reach the site, travelers must first take a Route 04H jeepney from Lahug Market. While the 04H line serves several upland barangays, only a few trips go as far as Bonbon — passengers are advised to confirm the destination with the driver before boarding. The fare typically costs ₱25. The jeepney route ends near a water refilling station, which serves as the last stop. From there, motorcycle taxis (habal-habal) can be hired to take visitors to Sitio Morga, the jump-off point for the cave trek. The motorcycle ride takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes and features scenic views of Tabogon’s rural terrain.
  • By Car: Navigate to Bonbon Barangay Hall and hire a motorcycle taxi (habal-habal) or trek up to the entrance of the cave

Carnaza

The island’s primary resort, Carnaza Eco Park, has glamping tents, cottages, and access to Skull Cove, a cave that is rumored to contain the bones of a couple who perished from leprosy. It also has a helipad with expansive views. Another option for cultural immersion is to visit Twin Beach (Liog-Liog), which consists of two white sand beaches that face one another close to a local hamlet. The “neck” formation represents connectedness and is more than just a geological feature. 

The twin beaches, according to locals, symbolize two towns that were formerly split apart by topography but brought together by common fishing grounds. Kailina Beach: A local-run sunset retreat that costs ₱20 to enter. This beach, which is run by Kuya Eddie, is more than just a panoramic location; it’s a gathering place for residents to share stories and watch the stars. Some tourists call it “therapeutic,” both emotionally and visually. Rock Formations: Sharp limestone cliffs that are perfect for light scrambling and photography.

Caohagan

Sandbar & Marine Sanctuary: pristine seas perfect for snorkeling; white sand appears at low tide. Caohagan’s sandbar abruptly rises to the surface at low tide, forming a makeshift bridge to neighboring reefs. You may use poetry to examine this visual metaphor for impermanence. 

Seafood Market: For a price, locals sell fresh seafood, including fish, lobsters, and crabs, which are frequently prepared on-site. 

Community Life: The 694 people of Caohagan depend on fishing and solar energy, but tourism is changing their means of subsistence.

  • By Commute: From Cebu City, go to Cebu North Bus Terminal then ride a bus bound for Maya-Kawit or Maya-Bagay. Tell the conductor you’re alighting at Tapilon Port, not Maya Port. From Tapilon Port, ride a boat to Carnaza. The first trip is usually 7 AM–10 AM, but may vary with tides.
  • By Car: Drive north via Cebu North Road toward Daanbantayan. Destination: Tapilon Port — not Maya Port (important distinction). From Tapilon Port, take a public or chartered boat to Carnaza. The scheduled first trip is usually between 7–10 AM. 

Caohagan

Exact Location:

  • By Commute: Travel to Maribago, Mactan Island. By taxi, Grab, or jeepney. Hire a chartered bangka or join an island-hopping tour. You can choose between Maribago, Angasil Port, or Santa Rosa Wharf as your jump-off point towards the island. 
  • By Car: From Cebu City, drive east to Mactan Island via the Marcelo Fernan Bridge. Different options are going to the island: Maribago is a common jump-off for island-hopping tours, while Santa Rosa Wharf has direct access to Caohagan. There you can hire a chartered bangka or join an island-hopping tour.

What To Expect

A 30-minute stroll through bamboo forests, cornfields, and a massive balete tree awaits you after a habal-habal ride (motorcycle taxi). Headlamps are necessary because the cave is completely dark inside. Flashlights on cell phones are insufficient.

Delicate stalactites and stalagmites may be seen in the cave. To protect their growth, it is not recommended to touch them. There are no official facilities, such as bathrooms, designated paths, or an admission booth. It’s a genuine sensation of being in nature. The cave is unlabeled and well hidden.   • By Car: Drive south from Cebu City via the Barili route. Follow signs to Alegria town proper, then head toward Sangi Junction. From there, continue to the village trailhead (ask locals for directions or hire a guide). Parking may be limited near the trail, so plan accordingly.

The falls derive their name from Rafael, who is the landowner of the property, which is complete with its natural wonder. For those people who are willing to venture beyond Inambakan paths, the Kampael presents a slice of Ginatilan’s aquatic beauty, which can be appreciated.

Step Up to Fall Back 

The journey to Kampael begins where most visitors stop at Inambakan’s main plunge pool. A short 5-10 minute trek upstream reveals the fall, a delicate ribbon of water spilling into a crystal-clear basin framed by lush greenery. Where Inambakan impresses with power, Kampael enchants with intimacy; its gentle flow creates perfect conditions for wading behind the water curtain or perching on the hidden rock ledge that offers a surreal behind-the-falls perspective.

There are no safety railings or platforms in the place that enhance the sense of adventure, though waterproof footwear is essential for navigating the moss-slicked rocks.

In Barangay Tabunan, Cebu, Central Visayas, Tabunan Forest is a protected eco-tourism site within the Central Cebu Protected Landscape. It’s famous for being home to the Cebu Flowerpecker (Dicaeum quadricolor), a tiny, colorful bird that was once thought extinct until it was found again in 1992 in Tabunan Forest, and is now listed as Critically Endangered by both the IUCN and the Philippine government. This little bird, named quadricolor for the four vibrant colors on the male’s plumage, blue, red, yellow, and white, is a true spectacle of nature. The forest also shelters other endemic birds like the Cebu Black Shama and Cebu Hawk-Owl, making it a must-visit for anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Osmeña Peak, known to avid hikers as it is short and beginner-friendly, takes up to 15-30 minutes from the jump-off point. It stands tall at 1,013 meters high above sea level, making it the highest point in Cebu.

At the Top

The mountain provides a breathtaking view over the western shore and the rocky interior of Cebu. Even Moalboal, Badian, and occasionally the islands of Negros and Bohol are visible in clear weather. Additionally, you may observe the ragged hill formations of sharply pointed, grouped hills that have a more dramatic, rugged texture, just like the Chocolate Hills of Bohol. A 360-degree panorama of the ocean, agricultural valleys, and many groups of isolated settlements tucked away between the hills will greet you. The summit is especially renowned for its breathtaking views during dawn and sunset, when the peaks are covered in a magnificent display of brilliant orange and purple hues.

Atmosphere

The peak offers a cool and windy atmosphere with breathtaking views of rolling hills and neighboring islands. The weather may be unpredictable; high winds are frequently seen at the peak, and fog and rain are frequent occurrences. The trek is typically regarded as easy and appropriate for beginners, despite the possibility of difficult circumstances. The peak is largely exposed, with no shade or shelters, so hikers should bring and prepare for the direct sun and strong winds.

In addition to trekking to the top, you may camp overnight for a small fee of Php 50.00 and wake up to the soothing sound of songbirds and foggy hills. It is the perfect location to fly drones and capture the breathtaking ridgelines, vast landscapes, and dreamy atmosphere. There is also an entrance fee of Php 150.00, which includes a mandatory guide.

  • By Commute: From Cebu City, head to the South Bus Terminal and take a bus bound for Dalaguete. Ask the conductor to drop you at the Dalaguete Junction. From there, hire a habal-habal (motorbike taxi) to reach the Mantalongon Market, then continue on foot to the registration area, the official jump-off point.
  • By Car: Open your navigation app, either Google Maps or Waze, and search “Osmeña Peak Hiking Trail.”
