The unique setup featured radiant ultraviolet lights that vividly illuminated every dunk, dribble, and dash, turning a regular gathering into an electrifying event that thrilled every basketball enthusiast present.
Interactive Games and Fan Engagement
The heart of the event was the interactive games that allowed fans to showcase their basketball skills alongside Chris Newsome. The highlight was undoubtedly the neon-lit shootout where fans got to go head-to-head with Newsome, creating a lively and competitive atmosphere. This wasn’t just a chance to watch a professional at work; it was an opportunity for fans to step up and experience the thrill of the game in a professional setting.
Memorable Moments with Chris Newsome
Chris Newsome played a pivotal role throughout the evening, not only participating in the games but also engaging with fans on a personal level. He signed autographs, took photos, and even chose five lucky fans to receive exclusive merchandise signed by him. These actions helped deepen the fans’ connection to their idol, making the event a memorable experience that went beyond just an athletic display.
Social Media Buzz and Community Building

The crypto market is buzzing with excitement, driven by improving regulations and increasing investor interest.
As Bitcoin and major cryptocurrencies rise, attention is turning to emerging meme coins that blend creativity with the potential for high returns. These rising tokens offer early investors a chance to capitalize on the next big crypto trend.
Here’s a quick look at the top meme coins that are gearing up to make an impact and could be set to explode.
Solaxy ($SOLX)
Solaxy is a unique project that sets itself apart from traditional meme coins, yet has the potential to thrive as the sector grows. It is developing the first Solana Layer 2 blockchain, providing a long-term solution to the network’s congestion issues.
Solana has become the go-to blockchain for meme coin traders due to its low fees, rapid speeds, and meme coin platforms like Pump.fun. However, high demand can lead to congestion, resulting in delays and failed transactions.
Solaxy combats this by utilizing off-chain settlement and transaction bundling technologies, offering faster, more reliable, and cost-effective transactions. This makes Solaxy a promising candidate for the next wave of Solana-based meme coins.
Currently in its presale phase, Solaxy has raised an impressive $16.1 million.
MIND Of Pepe ($MIND)
The meme coin market is booming, but with so many new tokens launching every week, standing out is a challenge. According to Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, up to a million new tokens are launched each week, making it harder for fresh projects to gain traction.
MIND of Pepe rises above the noise by offering a truly innovative twist on the iconic Pepe meme. Beyond just being another meme coin, MIND of Pepe is developing an advanced AI agent that will operate its own X account and crypto wallet to gather data, track trends, and launch new tokens.
Holders of $MIND will gain exclusive access to valuable insights, data, and early access to token launches, giving them a competitive edge. Additionally, the project offers a staking mechanism with an impressive 511% APY.
The $MIND presale has already raised $4.3 million.
Meme Index ($MEMEX)
Meme Index is another strong addition to the meme coin ecosystem that has strong potential in the months ahead. It allows investors to trade meme coin indexes, making it easier to diversify their investments with just one click.
Diversification helps reduce the volatility typically associated with meme coins. With Meme Index, investors can easily access curated baskets of meme coins, saving on gas fees and avoiding the hassle of buying each token individually.
The platform offers four baskets, ranging from low to ultra-high volatility, and $MEMEX holders can vote to add or remove tokens or propose new baskets—like one specifically for “AI meme coins.”
To access the platform, users must hold the $MEMEX token. It is currently available in presale, having already raised $3.1 million.
Wall Street Pepe ($WEPE)
Wall Street Pepe ($WEPE) is making waves in the crypto world, raising an impressive $62 million in its first month of presale, easily surpassing its initial $60 million target.
What sets $WEPE apart from other Pepe-themed tokens is its blend of humor and real utility. This token is empowering everyday traders with the tools needed to challenge traditional financial systems. With a focus on providing resources to help users navigate volatile markets, $WEPE offers more than just meme appeal.
Investing in $WEPE gives holders exclusive access to premium crypto trading alerts, in-depth analyses of emerging trends in the meme coin market, and a supportive community committed to collective success.
At a presale price of $0.0003665, $WEPE offers both meme-driven appeal and staking rewards of up to 20% APY, making it an attractive option for investors looking for short-term gains and long-term growth.
The Calbayog Cathedral is a national heritage church, formally known as the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul and Parish of Our Lady’s Nativity. The cathedral is also an ecclesiastical seat of the Diocese of Calbayog located in the Calbayog city, Samar, Philippines. The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Palo.
Calbayog began as a settlement called Hibatang. The Jesuit missionaries arrived in Hibatang in 1599 after reaching Samar in 1596 and established a mission station as a visita of Capul, Northern Samar.
The settlement was moved away from the coast and up to the river to avoid Moro raids and due to its flood it was moved again by the banks of the Calbayog River along the Sabang-Cahumpang. In 1737, the settlement was named after the river and it was known as Calbayog thereafter.
During the first decade of the 20th century, the church underwent improvements. A number of interiors were imported from Europe ( such as the pulpit. Chandeliers, and a large clock installed in the facade) and painted by Cirilo Buenaventura and Señor Respall.
In the colonial era, Leyte and Samar consisted of one province and their churches were under the Diocese of Cebu. In 1768, each was made into a province of Tacloban as the Capital of Leyte and Catbalogan that of Samar. The Diocese of Calbayog was erected by Pope Pius X on April 10, 1910 and its jurisdiction extended over the churches of Samar and Leyte. Bishop Pablo Singzon consecrated the church as Cathedral of the diocese and placed it under the advocation of Saints Peter and Paul in 1912.
The cathedral is a heritage church and a Level II historical marker installed by the National Historical Commissions of the Philippines.
Architecture
The cathedral is built in the shape of a cross. The Baroque-Romanesque cathedral has a brick in the entrance and stone interior in the upper level. Its facade is decorated sparsely by dentils and moldings. Its pediment is punctured with an oculus and contains the image of the Lady of Nativity flanked by the statues of Saints Paul and Peter; above is a quadrangular lantern.
The bell tower is erected separately from the church and rises up to five floors with a pyramidal roof. On top of the crossing is a dome pierced with arch openings and on the roof are dormer windows.
Celebrations
The feast day of Saints Peter and Paul is June 29, Our Lady of Nativity is on September 8.
Services
The parish is open from 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN and 2:30 to 4:30 PM every Tuesday to Saturday. On Saturday, it is open 8:30 AM to 12:00 NN only.

The Compañia Maritima Building, also known as the Maritima Ruins is a neoclassical heritage building located in Cebu City, Philippines. The building was built in 1910 and it was one of the first buildings constructed in the port area and was known by different names through history: Shamrock Hotel and Fernando Building before the war.
Where is it even located?
The Compañia Maritima is a three-story building located in the waterfront area in the old district of Cebu near the east coast of SRP (South Road Properties) situated on Quezon Boulevard between P. Burgos and Lapu-lapu street. It is accessible from the Cebu City hall and Carbon Market.
Architectural Design
The architectural design of the building is characterized as neoclassical, which were the typical structures constructed during the American colonial period, the design featured prominent arched windows, classical pilasters, ornamental beams, and sculptured railings on the roof decks. Karl Cabilao, an architect said that its facade is at its times reminiscent of beautiful renaissance palazzos in Europe.
History Background
Fernandez Building
Photo from Joseph Arnel C. Ocon
The building was built in 1910 on reclaimed land where the then new port of Cebu was established. The building was popularly known as the “Fernandez Building” and it was one of the first buildings constructed in the port area. The building was founded by brothers Jose and Ramon Fernandez and they owned it.
Shamrock Hotel
Photo from the wires
It is uncertain when the Manila Steamship Company’s offices occupied the building’s first floor and the Shamrock Hotel on the upper floors. However, according to the author Lucy Urgello Miller, the hotel — whose proprietor was Mike Ryan as shown on the 1937 advertising postcard — occupied the building during the 1930s. Due to the port’s nearby location, people can disembark from shipping vessels and cross the street for accommodation.

Despite the damages from bombings in World War II, the building survived. After repairs were made during the post-war era, it became the location of the Compañia Maritima de Cebu, one of the successful pre-war companies established in 1886 and the biggest shipping firm in the Philippines whose vessels navigated within western and southern Mindanao ports. The building filed for bankruptcy in 1980 and the building was abandoned.
Property Ownership
The land which stands is the subject of an ownership dispute between the Cebu City Port Authority and the Cebu City government. The port area near the Compañia Maritimawas reclaimed to construct the viaduct that connected to the tunnel from SRP to McArthur Boulevard, and resulting reclaimed a lot was given by the Department of Public Works and Highways to the CPA through a memorandum of agreement. In 2013, Mayor Mike Rama and the city government issued a tax declaration of its possession but it was vetoed in court stating the area is no longer considered a shipping dock.
Personal hygiene is our way of taking care of ourselves
Photo from Pixabay
Personal hygiene is our way of taking care of our bodies. It includes bathing, washing our hands, brushing your teeth and many more. It is also an act of self care because when we take care of ourselves, we prevent illnesses and also feel good in the process.
We come in contact with many germs and viruses that can linger on our body and make us sick in some cases. Learn more about personal hygiene and its importance on how it can change your life for the better and feel better.
Types of Hygiene Practices
Each person’s idea of personal hygiene is different and these main categories are a useful place to start for building good hygiene habits:
Toothbrush / Dental Care
Photo from Pixabay
This is more than pearly white teeth. Caring for your teeth and gums is a smart way to prevent gum diseases and cavities.
Brush at least twice a day for two minutes. Aim to brush before you wake up and before you go to bed. Kung kaya? Brush your teeth after meals and floss between your teeth daily. You can ask your dentist for an antibacterial mouthwash. These two steps can help eliminate pockets where bacteria and germs build up and prevent tooth decay.
Sheets
Photo from Pixabay
Bacteria, fungi, and viruses don’t just appear out of nowhere. To get to the bedsheets, either it came in contact from the outside world on clothing or skin. In general, germs are spread through personal contact, when meeting friends, in a crowd, or standing near a stranger. It’s possible you are catching a number of germs. The germs are then carried back home and then the bedroom and onto the bed sheets.
Photo from Pixabay
The number one most useful way to prevent germs from spreading onto the bed sheets is to wash hands routinely. Hands are the most likely areas to pick up germs from the outside world. Washing with soap and water will clean them. Bedding should be washed frequently in hot water even though it’s a high absorbent fabric. They should also be given time to dry properly under the sun or a dryer.
Makeup Brush
Photo from Pixabay
If you are wondering how to clean makeup brushes, what to clean them, and the best way to clean them, we got some answers to your questions:
First, rinse the brush hair under lukewarm water. Wash the bristles only, keeping the handle and the metal part dry to prolong the life of your brush. If the metal part becomes wet, the glue may loosen and lead to shedding then the wooden handle may become swollen and crack.
Photo from Pixabay
Add a drop of baby or sulfate free shampoo or a gentle makeup cleaner on your hands and swirl the brush in it to coat each hair. Next, rinse the soapy brush in the water and wash all the product that was released, depending on how dirty your brush is, you may need to repeat the process. Be careful not to submerge the brush. Once its completely clean, reshape the brush head and lay it flat with the bristles.
Makeup

Always wash your face twice a day after waking up and before going to bed. When taking off your makeup, wipe your makeup off with a micellar water or cleansing oil gently (avoid using coconut oil), then wash your face with a gentle and mild cleanser on your skin. During night time, put on your toner, moisturizer, and serum. If you are in your early twenties, start using retinol once a week to prevent early signs of wrinkles.
Photo from Pixabay
During the day, always wear sunblock and vitamin C serum to prevent sun damage and sun spots. The sun will make you age ten times faster than before, and always protect your skin. Washing your face properly will prevent acne and do wonders on your skin.
What are the effects of poor personal hygiene?
Photo from Pixabay
Good personal hygiene leads directly to less illnesses and better health. However, poor personal hygiene can lead to some minor side effects like body odor and greasy skin. They can lead to more troublesome issues or even serious issues.
Photo from Pixabay
Here’s an example: if you don’t wash your hands frequently, you can easily transfer germs and bacteria to your mouth and eyes. This can lead to many issues like stomach viruses and pink eye.
Photo from Pixabay
Not brushing your teeth can lead to tooth issues and plaque build up. Poor dental care is also a risk factor to several serious health issues, including heart diseases.
Poor hygiene can affect your self-esteem or make you at target for bullying. Looking good and feeling presentable can give you a confidence boost and sense of pride in your appearance.

In a massive teaser, Samsung confirmed that a fourth Galaxy S flagship model is on its way. It’s called the Galaxy S25 Edge. What should we know about this phone? Even though Samsung has teased it for the Unpacked launch event in San Jose, the phone’s technical details haven’t been confirmed yet.
A brand new entry into the Galaxy S series, you can bet that there are a lot of rumors and gossip about it. In this article, we will give you a full recap of the latest device:
It’s Slim Profile
The most unique feature of this phone is its slim profile, which is why industry watchers used to refer to it as the “Galaxy S25 Slim” before the San Jose Unpacked event. Nobody knows how precisely thin it will be once this device is on sale. According to Samsung, the design that was demonstrated during the Unpacked event is bound to change. The demo unit is quite skinny.
The phone will have a 6.4mm profile, but this is still yet to be confirmed. If Samsung has any intentions to break records, it will create a thinner device than 6.4mm.
Specs Wise
The Galaxy S25 Edge should share some DNA with the rest of the series. Instead of the full-fledged 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the Galaxy S25 Edge could feature the 7-core version of the same SoCs. Other specs may include:
128GB/512GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM
Potentially, there is a 512GB+12GB variant in the works.
A 3,900-4,000mAh battery
A 6.7-inch AMOLED Infinity-O display, possibly with a resolution of around 1080×2400. Brightness and refresh rate details are unknown.
One UI 7 with the latest Galaxy AI features.
Support for seven yearly OS upgrades
One other unusual Galaxy S25 Edge characteristic is the rumored camera configuration. Initial rumors said the phone would be equipped with a 200MP main camera and 50 MP ultra-wide shooter.
The demo unit showcase during the launch event had two cameras, which can be turned off for camera enthusiasts, but we will see how it all turns out.
The device will likely have a 12-MP front-facing selfie shooter.
Get Ready For Its Global Release!
It’s unclear if the Galaxy S25 Edge will enjoy a global release, but rumors may say again that it may go on sale in April. Pricing details are al so unknown but people expect the phone to be positioned between the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
All in one, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be a reinterpretation of the Samsung premium phone formula — the one we haven’t had before. It’s something brand new and it kind of shows that Samsung is still willing to step outside its comfort zone. Whether or not the phone and Samsung’s efforts will be worth it remains to be determined.

Museo Sugbo is located in the former Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation center. It was once called “Carcel de Cebu” , the provincial jail in Cebu. It is now the Cebu provincial museum.
The museum was designed by Domingo de Escondrillas in 1869 and it was proposed to be the main prison for the Visayan District because of its somewhat considerable size when it was constructed. The construction began in 1871 and it was believed that the coral blocks from the demolished Parian church were used to build parts of the gaol.
