Rendon Labador’s Facebook Page Disappears, but He Promises a Return!

Oh, uh, someone has just been banned from Facebook and TikTok. Do you know who it is? Keep scrolling!

Photo from Rendon Labrador

Rendon Labador, an internet personality known for his blunt and regularly controversial opinions, has just announced the sudden deletion of his Facebook page on September 7, 2023, at 12 p.m.

He announced on his Instagram Stories. After revealing that Facebook Philippines had removed him, he and others who followed him were perplexed and shocked.

On a Instagram story, he hashtag “stay motivated” with following statement of “Nagpapasalamat ako sa mga taong naniniwala at nagpapadala ng mensahe ngayon… Pasensya na at paralisado kaming lahat dahil dito sa pangyayari.”

Photo from Rendon Labrador

Rendon, a self-proclaimed ‘voice of the people,’ apologized to his die-hard fans and thanked them for their unwavering loyalty. The unexpected disappearance of his social media accounts clearly deflated and shook Labador. He swore to return despite the uncertainty and commotion. He also promised supporters he would not remain silent for long and dropped hints about an upcoming “official statement” on his YouTube channel.

Labador posted a photo of himself working out at a gym with the uplifting caption, “Pilipinas, I will be back!” His unshakable will to recover showed through every detail of that picture.

This isn’t Labador’s first brush with controversy. Prior to this Facebook fiasco, his TikTok account was also ‘deleted’ by the platform, raising questions about the limits of free expression in the digital age. He also admitted that his Facebook page was “at risk of being unpublished” because it appeared to violate the platform’s community standards.

Clearly, the power of mass reporting should not be underestimated. Filipinos showed an eagerness to utilize their ability to keep those in power accountable and fight disinformation and hate speech.

Do you think Rendon Labador’s social media account deletion is worth it? What are your thoughts? Write your comments below.

Good Morning America Features Filipino Drag Queen Taylor Sheesh

Taylor Sheesh is a Filipino drag artist who has become famous for impersonating Taylor Swift. Sheesh’s performances are so convincing that even Swifties can’t tell them apart.

Photo from heymacyou on Instagram

Sheesh got her big break when she appeared on the US morning show “Good Morning America.” Sheesh’s talent astounded the show’s anchors, who applauded her for her creativity and dedication.

“Everyone wants a piece of Taylor Swift these days, but her Eras Tour isn’t going anywhere,” one of the anchors explained. “That’s why Swifties have to be creative. While Swift is bejeweled, Taylor Sheesh can still make the whole place shimmer.”

Photo from heymacyou on Instagram

Mac Coronel, a drag performer in real life, was motivated to recreate Swift’s “Eras” tour after hearing calls from Filipino “Swifties” to have Swift perform in the Philippines.

Sheesh’s performances are incredibly detailed, from her costumes to her dance moves. But what really sets Sheesh apart is her passion for her craft. She is a longtime Taylor Swift fan and loves bringing people joy with her performances.

Like any true concert queen, Sheesh has said that the most challenging part of her performances is the “quick change of the costumes.”

Photo from Good Morning America

“After the first performance, I have like 30-45 seconds to do a quick change,”

she explained.

Sheesh is an inspirational model for many people, as her success shows that everyone is capable of the spotlight.

Taylor Sheesh has made us Filipinos very proud with her dedication and determination. She embodies all that it takes to be a genuine creative force. She inspires us all, and we cannot wait to see what she does next.

Jose Mari Chan is saddened by the decline of CDs and cassettes in the age of streaming

People used to mostly listen to music on CDs and cassettes before the advent of streaming services. They were simple to use, lightweight, and provided excellent sound. On top of that, CDs were considered a higher quality option than cassette tapes since they typically included extensive liner notes and other bonuses.

Photo from Unsplash

CDs and cassettes have seen a fall in sales as streaming services have grown in popularity. Streaming services have a broader variety of songs and are easier to utilize. They are also more accessible financially, especially for casual music listeners.

In the Philippines, Jose Mari Chan, who is referred to as the “Father of Philippine Christmas Music,” is well-known. His melodies, like “Christmas In Our Hearts” and “Give Me Your Heart for Christmas,” are timeless favorites during the Christmas season.

In the episode “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last Friday, Chan admitted that he feels sad that no one buys CDs and cassettes in today’s generation. According to him, these forms were an essential source of money for artists, and their extinction has made it more challenging for them to support themselves.

Photo from GMA News

“Not anymore, Boy, because the technology has changed. Nobody buys records, nobody buys CDs, nobody buys cassettes anymore,” Chan said in the interview. “So we earn a little bit from Spotify, not too much, and also from endorsements and doing shows, that’s all.”

Chan encourages aspiring musicians to have an alternate plan. He claimed that supporting oneself entirely through music is challenging and that having a backup business is essential.

“Especially now with the technology changed, it’s very hard to live on music. That’s why my advice to the young composers and singers is that, use that as a hobby or on the side, but get another career, either in law or accounting or medicine,”

Chan said.
Photo from GMA News

“And then just do music on the side. Don’t lose it completely because that’s God’s given gift to you,”

Chan is optimistic about the future of Christmas music despite the difficulties. He indicated that the traditions of singing Christmas carols will keep going but in an altered version.

“Christmas music will always be there,” Chan said. “It may be in a different format, but it will always be there to bring joy to people’s hearts.”

Photo from Unsplash

Chan’s remarks serve as a reminder of how the music business is evolving. Christmas music will always be a part of Filipino culture, even though CDs and cassettes may be outdated. And because of creators like Jose Mari Chan, it will keep making people happy for a long time.
