Filipina Weightlifting Champion Hidilyn Diaz fails to snag gold during the women’s 59kg division in the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Hidilyn was up against North Korea’s Il-gyong and fell to the 4th spot with a 223kg total built on a 97kg snatch and 126kg clean and jerk.

Hidilyn had a hard time taking part in a heavier weighlifting class.
The second spot was taken over by China’s Luo Shifang, and Taipei’s Kuo Hsing Chun took the third spot. However, despite placing fourth, Diaz still smiled through it all. The 32-year-old weightlifter will be competing in the Paris Olympics next year.

Diaz said that she is pushing herself to the limit for the Paris Olympics. “I’m confident of winning gold in Paris, but I’ll need to lift 107kg and 135 kg to do that,” Hidilyn added.
Thank the universe for Lapu-Lapu’s existence, giving those from Cebu City an accessible option for a vacation when they’re short on time or working with a tight schedule. Olango Island is no stranger to the citizens of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu alike, only being one boat ride away from Lapu-Lapu City. There lies Pag Utlan Camp, a rest stop that gives you a plethora of choices on what to do on the weekends.

Pag Utlan Camp Beachside
Pag Utlan literally translates to “boundary” in English. The camp is commonly known for what it is named after, and that is its shore on which campers put their tents to have a vivid panoramic view of the beach. Here, you can wake up and open your tent by daybreak and be greeted by the salt air (and the rust on your door for the Swifties out there) and the sun peaking through the skyline.
You can take a swim and enjoy the beach with your friends during the day or feel the thrill of dipping in the water in the dark. Either way, in Pag Utlan Camp, a good time is definitely guaranteed.

Biking within Nature
Another thing Pag Utlan is known for is its bike rental for those who want to explore the place on wheels. For only ₱20, you can use their bike for an hour to go around the area or go somewhere quieter, away from the crowd and have a moment of peace. Whatever your reason is, it truly is refreshing to bike somewhere where your inhales are rewarded with a breeze as opposed to carbon emissions.
Food Adventures at Pag Utlan Camp
Nothing screams beach day more than grilling at the beachside. This practice goes uncompromised at Pag Utlan Camp with their grilling stations. After an exhausting dip in the sea under the hot sun, you can dig into your sinugba with steamed rice at the side using your hands. You may bring your own equipment for grilling and your meat of choice. The corkage fee starts at ₱50, but it may vary depending on what kind of food you are bringing.
Explore what nature can offer at Pag Utlan Camp and have a relaxing beach vacation with the city only being at arm’s reach. This is the perfect place for you to quickly take your mind off of the busy streets and workload, so call your friends, pack the bags, and make plans.

While most of us grew up watching Disney Channel or Nickelodeon, some grew up with National Geographic. Our interest in animals, geography, and more when we were kids was all thanks to NatGeo and NatGeo Wild.
Photo from National Geographic Facebook Page
However, we must bid adieu to our childhood once again as Disney ends its broadcasting TV channels in Southeast Asia, such as Star Movies, StarWorld, National Geographic Channel, National Geographic Channel Wild, Star Chinese Channel, and Star Chinese Movies.
The channels were first announced to be halted in June 2023, which became effective on October 1, 2023.
But worry not. These channels are still available for Disney+ or Disney+ Hotstar subscribers.

These channels shaped our childhood through cable TV, and the memories of us sitting in front of the TV watching lion cubs wrestle each other on NatGeo Wild will always be one of the best to reminisce.

Many people thought it was because of the phone’s new titanium enclosure. However, Apple states that the heating issues are not because of the titanium design. The real culprits are bugs from apps. In addition, there is also a bug in IOS.
Apple has issued a software update to address the heating issue. The update is the anticipated iOS 17.

It is indeed a historical move for Taiwan as its president launched the first domestically-made submarine on the island. The submarine was launched for testing last Thursday, September 28, 2023, at a Kaohsiung port.
Photo from NBC News
“In the past, a domestic made submarine was considered impossible, but today, a submarine designed and built by our countrymen is in front of you,”
President Tsai Ing-wen stated during the launching ceremony. He also added that it would be the “concrete realization” of their resolution to protect Taiwan.
However, constructing the submarine was “torturous,” according to the head of Taiwan’s CSBC Corporation, Cheng Wen-lon.
Photo from NBC News
The submarine is named Hai Kun, which translates to Sea Kun. The name is inspired by a fish in Chinese literature called “Kun.” After seven years of design and construction, Hai Kun’s prototype will be ready for testing in the harbor. Once it passes, it will be tested out in the ocean.
The submarine will be turned over to the Military only if it passes the harbor and ocean-faring tests. The target date for the submarine’s deployment is 2027. However, by that year, they will also deploy another domestically-made submarine.
Photo from NBC News
Once deemed a complete success, Hai Kun will be Taiwan’s breakthrough.
