On Friday evening, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 21, 2022.
The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 1,834 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 267 new recoveries, and 23 new deaths. Cebu’s total active cases jumped to 11,860 (from 10,234).

– Total confirmed: 47,458 (+801 new)
– Total recoveries: 39,802 (+76 new)
– Total deaths: 1,547 (+12 new)
– Active cases: 6,109
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 15,014 (+218 new)
– Total recoveries: 13,195 (+0 new)
– Total deaths: 473 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 1,346
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 13,552 (+246 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,893 (+93 new)
– Total deaths: 445 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 1,214
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 40,473 (+569 new)
– Total recoveries: 34,695 (+98 new)
– Total deaths: 2,587 (+9 new)
– Active cases: 3,191

- Total Recoveries in Cebu: 99,585 (+267 new)

A total of 3,992 laboratory results were released.
