On Wednesday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of September 1, 2021.
Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 480 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,040 new recoveries, and 76 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 92,540, while the active cases increased to 11,735 (from 13,230).
Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 37,948 (+116 new)
– Total recoveries: 32,767 (+381 new)
– Total deaths: 1,184 (+15 new)
– Active cases: 3, 997
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 12,096 (+94 new)
– Total recoveries: 10,446 (+103 new)
– Total deaths: 312 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 1,338
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 10,947 (+66 new)
– Total recoveries: 8,855(+153 new)
– Total deaths: 312 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 1,780
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 31,529 (+204 new)
– Total recoveries: 25,257 (+226 new)
– Total deaths: 1,652 (+60 new)
– Active cases: 4,620

A total of 3,772 laboratory results were released for today.

- *As per DOH-7, the additional deaths in the report are not due to the overnight spike in deaths but due to more accurate data collection and validating efforts. Not all of those deaths occurred today but occurred more than a week ago.
