On Sunday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of August 8, 2021.
Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 670 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 381 new recoveries, and 34 new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 73,764, while the active cases increased to 11,073 (from 10,834).

Cebu City
– Total confirmed: 31,930 (+200 new)
– Total recoveries: 27,303 (+138 new)
– Total deaths: 987 (+9 new)
– Active cases: 3,640
Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 9,517 (+68 new)
– Total recoveries: 7,751 (+91 new)
– Total deaths: 229 (+4 new)
– Active cases: 1,537
Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 8,891 (+55 new)
– Total recoveries: 7,176 (+24 new)
– Total deaths: 266 (+1 new)
– Active cases: 1,449
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 23,426 (+347 new)
– Total recoveries: 17,976 (+128 new)
– Total deaths: 1,003 (+20 new)
– Active cases: 4,447
