Cebu logs 181 new cases on January 27

On Wednesday night, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 27, 2021.

Today, the whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and the Cebu Province — recorded 181 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 70 new recoveries, and no new deaths. This brings Cebu’s total confirmed cases to 25,639, while the active cases rose to 2,017 (from 1,906).

Cebu’s recovery rate is now at 86.63%.

Breakdown of cases:

📍 Lapu-Lapu City
– Total confirmed: 2,837 (+19 new)

– Total deaths: 112 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 138

📍 Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 2,985 (+12 new)
– Total recoveries: 2,563 (+12 new)
– Total deaths: 174 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 248

📍 Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 7,701 (+53 new)
– Total recoveries: 6,698 (+26 new)
– Total deaths: 423 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 580
