Airlines extend flight cancellation to April 30

With the ongoing lockdown and enhanced community quarantine in different parts of the country, local airline companies are taking their part in helping by allowing their passengers to cancel their flights until this month’s end. This is due to the mandated order by the government in continuing the Luzon-wide lockdown.

AirAsia, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific announced that both of their domestic and international flights will remain suspended until the end of the month, April 30.

Air Asia

AirAsia customers who have cancelled their flights will be notified thru SMS or e-mail, the company announced.

Travelers who booked on or before March 22 with a departure date until May 31 may change their travel dates before October 31 for the same route. If not, they also have the option to convert their trip into credits for future use.

Philippine Airlines

Customers in Philippine Airlines who had their trips cancelled has the option to convert their ticket into a travel voucher valid for a year, rebook or reroute, or avail a refund with no penalties. However, the company announced that they can only process the changes in booking after the quarantine period.

Cebu Pacific

On the other hand, Cebu Pacific are encouraging their passengers with affected flights to have them rebooked for free, avail of a travel fund or ultimately, get a full refund. They also announced that the refund process will commence on May 4, the latest date the quarantine is expected to be lifted.
