They say, if you really are a true blue Cebuano or if you want to actually experience Cebu, it’s a must to try the famous street food — the ginabot, Cebu’s version of chicharon bulaklak or pork crackling made from pig intestines.
This crispy dish is being offered by many sidewalk vendors around Cebu — locally known as “pungko-pungko” (low-seating on little benches with a small table). But if you want to make your first memorable and worthwhile, head on to Pungko-Pungko sa Fuente in Cebu City — the top choice of many Cebuanos because of their crispy and delicious ginabot. In fact, they were recognized as Sunstar’s Best Of Cebu: Best Pungko-Pungko Place.
At Pungko-Pungko sa Fuente, the vendors offer a wide selection of fried food ranging from lumpia (spring rolls which can be made of meat or vegetables), longganisa (sausage), fried chicken, buwad (dried fish), utok (brain), and of course, the popular ginabot. Most of the time, these are best paired with cold Sparkle or Mountain Dew.

– Ride any jeepney going to Mango Ave. Drop off at National Book Store – Mango or Caltex Gas Station. From there, walk a little further for 5-10 minutes going to Century Plaza, and turn left on the first alley (before Century Plaza) and just follow the road until you have reached the place.
– Ride any jeepney passing through Fuente Osmena Circle (going to Capitol / Colon). Drop off at Hi-Precision Fuente. From there, walk a little further for 5 minutes and turn right until you have reached the place. You can also ask around where you can find Pungko-Pungko sa Fuente or Apple Tree Suites.
