Kawa Falls in Barangay Toong, Cebu, often referred to by locals as “Kawa” (meaning big pot or basin), isn’t the postcard‑worthy cascade your social feed might expect. Instead, it surprises, a modest, bowl‑shaped natural basin carved in rock, where water trickles and pools.
The basin fits only about ten to fifteen people at a time; one half is deep enough for full dips, the other shallow but slippery with moss. The cold water soothes tired muscles, a perfect antidote after a grueling hike.
Why “Kawa”?

The name reflects the basin’s shape: a rounded, circular dip in the rock, like a giant kawa (pot). Locals used to stash bottled drinks at the bottom to chill them, a simple, creative hack.

How to Get There?
Location: Barangay Toong, Cebu City, Philippines

Locals say you can take a habal‑habal (motorcycle taxi) from major areas like Labangon or Banawa‑Buhisan, ride for about 20 minutes, and ask to be dropped off at Barangay Toong or “Kawa Falls.” From the drop‑off, a short trek down (or down‑hill) leads you to the basin.
