There’s a place in the highlands of Toledo City that feels like it was carved for wanderers and storytellers alike. The air is fresher, the hills are greener, and the views seem to whisper secrets from long ago.
Locals call it Udlom Peak, a name that stirs curiosity as much as it inspires awe. But as it would soon discover, this mountain holds more than just scenery, it holds stories, surprises, and a spirit that lingers long after the hike is over.
Toledo’s Underrated Adventure Playground

Barangay General Climaco, more fondly known as Casoy, is one of Cebu’s most underrated adventure spots. It’s a place blessed with rolling hills, mystical lakes, and trails that promise both challenge and charm. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, a curious traveler, or a photographer chasing the perfect frame, Casoy will make you feel alive in all the right ways.
Whispers of the Mountain

Locals claim it’s often struck by lightning, a fierce rival to its neighbor, Mount Tagaytay. Some even whispered about a strange incident from the early 2000s, painting the mountain with a hint of mystery. But like any good adventure, curiosity won. With reassurance from local guides, we packed our bags and set out to see the truth for ourselves.
How to Get There?

By Car: From Cebu City, take the Naga–Toledo Road heading west. Once you reach Toledo City proper, drive toward Barangay General Climaco (Casoy), roughly a 20–30 minute drive from the city center. You can park near the barangay hall or Beth’s Store, where most hikers begin the trail to Mount Tagaytay and Udlom Peak. Travel time from Cebu City is about 2 to 2.5 hours.
