CASTING AND FILMING
At Netflix’s TUDUM event in June 2023, it was announced that Linda Hamilton would be joining the cast. Hamilton revealed that she had reached out to the Duffer Brothers via Zoom, where they discussed the “shape” of her character, though details of her storyline were not shared at the time.
When production officially began in January 2024, a set photo confirmed the return of Amybeth McNulty as Vickie. In July 2024, new cast members Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux were added to the lineup. Then, in mid-October 2024, a casting call by Knight Edge Media revealed they were seeking an actress to portray Jim Hopper’s late daughter, Sara, previously played by Elle Graham in the first season. The role would again involve flashback sequences, with a specific requirement for the actress to closely resemble Graham’s portrayal from Season 1.
In October 2024, Finn Wolfhard shared with People that they are nearly finished filming.
Since there is no official release date yet, the teaser only revealed that the new season will premiere in 2025, with the tagline: “In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins.”
