AirAsia announced that they will be implementing stricter baggage policies moving forward…
The low-cost carrier’s Communications and Public Affairs Head & First Officer Steve Dailisan stated, “Compliance also ensures fair access to overhead compartments for all guests, maintaining both safety and comfort.”
According to the latest update, each passenger will only be allowed to have 1 cabin baggage and a small personal item onboard, summing up to a total of 7 kilograms. In addition, the baggage must only have a max dimension of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm that should fit perfectly on the overhead compartment.
“Adhering to the cabin baggage policy is crucial to avoid unexpected higher charges at the airport and reduce congestion which affects the guest experience, especially during boarding and disembarkation,” Dailisan added, emphasizing the importance of the policy.
Lastly, any baggage going beyond the weight allowance and size limits will have to be checked in, possibly with additional fees, according to the budget liner.
