In the town of Tabogon, Cebu lies a place that feels like a secret waiting to be uncovered. Bitoon Gamay, which translates to “small star” in Cebuano, is a rocky yet captivating coastal hideaway located in Barangay Muabog. Unlike commercialized beaches, this spot maintains its rustic paradise, with crystal-clear waters and rugged rock formations framing its coastline. The beach may not have the powdery sand of more famous destinations, but its paradise lies in its intimacy and calm, making it a peaceful escape for those who crave a break from city life.

The Unique Beauty of the Shoreline

Bitoon Gamay is not a long stretch of sand but a petite seaside cove where the waters remain remarkably clean and inviting. The rocky terrain may surprise first-time visitors, but it creates an enchanting contrast to the turquoise sea. The natural beauty here is raw and untouched, a reminder of how coastal Cebu looked before resorts and crowds transformed its shores. Just a short walk from this little cove lies Bitoon Dako, or “big star,” a larger bay that carries the same unspoiled charm, giving visitors a chance to explore two hidden gems in one trip.

Things to Keep in Mind

A trip to Bitoon Gamay is best enjoyed by those prepared for simplicity. There are no food stalls or convenience stores nearby, so bringing your own snacks, drinking water, and mats is highly recommended. The shoreline is rocky, so wearing aqua shoes or sandals will make swimming and walking much more comfortable. The area remains free of entrance fees, allowing guests to experience its beauty without extra costs. For pet owners, Bitoon Gamay is also pet-friendly, making it a lovely spot to bring along your furry companions.
