The theater scene in our beloved country is thriving like never before, and as thespians and theater lovers, we can’t contain our excitement for the musicals hitting the Philippine stage! We are soon to be enchanted by the magical characters of “Into the Woods,” and taken to an emotional rollercoaster for “Dear Evan Hansen.” So, samtang sayo pa, let’s check out all the deets we need for six of the most awaited Broadway musicals coming to PH!

Come From Away

Get ready to cheer, “I’m an islander, I am an islander!” as “COME FROM AWAY” hits Manila this coming June 6 to 29, 2025! Set in the year 2001, the musical is inspired by a sequence of true events in Gander, Newfoundland following the 9/11 attacks. It tells the story of the local community who welcomed the passengers of 38 planes who had to be diverted to their area, approximately 7,000 people! Written by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the musical showcases the life-changing moments and what happens after 10 years, which includes the heartwarming moment about the “plane people” still keeping in touch with the Gander community who hosted them during one of the toughest times in history.

Dear Evan Hansen

You will be found at the Theater at Solaire as GMG Productions brings “Dear Evan Hansen” to the Philippine stage for the UK Touring Production’s Asian premiere. The musical follows Evan Hansen, a bullied high school student with social anxiety, who finds himself in a predicament as he gets trapped in a story involving Connor, a fellow student who committed suicide. This musical not only addresses mental health and the realities of life but also illustrates how one decision can create a ripple effect that changes many lives. Originally starring Ben Platt, “Dear Evan Hansen” is a powerful emotional musical that moves audiences to tears with its songs, such as “You Will Be Found” and “Requiem.”
