Inadlay Peak is located in Barangay Pasil, a hillside village just a few minutes away from Santander’s town proper. Santander is known as the southernmost municipality of Cebu and is often a transit point for ferries going to Dumaguete or Siquijor. What many don’t realize is that beyond its coastal charm lies a peaceful upland spot with one of the most underrated views in the region.

The Trail and the Experience

Getting to the peak is relatively easy. The trail is beginner-friendly and ideal for sunrise treks or a lazy afternoon hike. Most visitors start their walk from the main barangay road, where locals are often happy to guide the way. The path winds through farms, grassy slopes, and shaded areas with coconut trees. The short climb is rewarded with a full 360-degree view of southern Cebu’s coastline and glimpses of Negros and Siquijor on clear days.

Unlike commercialized mountain destinations, Inadlay remains quiet and undeveloped. There are no entrance fees, no stores at the peak, and no concrete markers. It is raw, scenic, and peaceful.

What Makes It Worth Visiting

First, it is the solitude. You can have the entire summit to yourself. It is a great place to reflect, take photos, or enjoy the cool breeze. Second, it is accessible. No special gear or permits are required. Even locals ride up on bicycles or motorbikes. Third, the view is rewarding. Sunrise or sunset at Inadlay Peak is worth waking up early for. The soft hues reflecting off Tañon Strait and the surrounding hills create a dramatic backdrop for anyone holding a camera.

Reminders for Visitors

Bring your own water and snacks. There are no stores near the peak. Wear comfortable footwear. The trail is mostly dry but can get slippery after rain. Most importantly, do not leave trash behind. Inadlay Peak is beautiful because it remains untouched. Let us all help keep it that way.
