We are heading to an environment-concious Cebu and we’re all for it!
If you’re cruising around Cebu and worried about where to top up your electric vehicle (EV), then don’t worry. There are now several spots around our beloved Queen City of the South (and even up north and down south) where you can charge your EV for free. Yes, libre! What About Paid Charging?
If you’re headed to Ayala Center Cebu, Ayala Central Bloc, NUSTAR Resort, or other major lifestyle hubs—yes, they do offer EV charging too. But unlike the Prince or SM locations, these often come with a fee or need membership access. Still worth it though, especially if you’re already shopping, dining, or working nearby.
Cebu’s Growing EV Scene
Cebu’s EV community is slowly but surely growing. Thanks to rising fuel prices and a growing number of local and imported EV models (like BYD, Jetour, and Nissan LEAF), more Sugboanons are now making the switch to electric.
Plus, local initiatives are being pushed to support more sustainable transport options, from local jeepney modernization efforts to the arrival of electric buses in select routes. There’s even talk of expanding EV incentives from the national government and LGUs, like free registration and discounted excise taxes.
Always check with the mall concierge or front desk to confirm availability and charging station status. Some are still in soft-launch mode or might require a quick sign-in at the info booth. And hey, don’t be that person who parks in the charging slot without plugging in. Let’s all keep it clean and fair.
Going green in Cebu doesn’t have to be a hassle. And with more free charging stations rolling out, owning an EV is starting to make more sense than ever. And if you know of more charging stations that we haven’t included, then feel free to comment down below to share the information to everybody.
