Carbon Market

Many people remember the carbon market as a thriving open-air market that has been in operation for more than a century. It carries a diverse selection of home decor, apparel, religious objects, dry products, seafood, and local produce. The Ukay Ukay booths in carbon represent a vibrant subculture of used goods street merchants. They sell second-hand clothing, gadgets, household products, street cuisines, and snacks.

Friendly tip: Bring cash because most merchants do not take online or digital payments. Also, haggle nicely, go early if you want to discover good deals, and keep an eye on your belongings.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact Location: 59 M. C. Briones St, Cebu City

  • By Commute: You can ride a jeepney bound for Colon Street, Pasil, or Carbon. Or look for the number 12G, 12I, or 17B. The fare is around Php 12.00 to php 15.00 then ask the driver to drop you off at Carbon Market or Freedom Park where the flea market zone is nearby.
  • By Car: Open google maps or waze and search for Carbon Market, M.C. Briones St., Cebu City. Parking is limited in the area but there are pay parking lots nearby 

Ukay ta Bai!

Vintage aficionados launched the company between 2018 and 2019, with the goal of bringing curated secondhand events to Cebu. Following their successful inception in early 2024, it has been renowned as Cebu’s first organized thrift community flea market, attracting thousands of tourists and fashion enthusiasts. You should be able to locate selected vintage clothes that include streetwear, retro, and designer items. They frequently change venues, so check their Instagram feed for updates.

Current location: Vibo place, Escario St, Cebu City

  • By Commute: From Ayala center Cebu, walk to the jeepney terminal near rustan’s and ride a 04L OR 17B jeepney then ask the driver to be dropped off at the Vibo place in Escario street
  • By Car: You can use the trusty google maps and waze and search for “Vibo place, Escario St, Cebu City.

Wilson Street Flea Market

A grassroots-style weekend market has become a popular hangout for collectors, treasure hunters, bargain hunters, and creatives alike. The Wilson Street Flea Market sells a wide range of items, including pre-owned clothing, collectibles (CDs, vinyl records, books, and so on), handcrafted items, and even live music with food and beverages. They also organize specialized events such as a collector’s market, reggae evenings, and charity drives.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact Location: Wilson St., Lahug, Cebu City

  • By Commute: You can take a jeepney. If you’re in Colon or Fuente Osmeña you can take a 04C, 04D, or 17B jeepney bound for Lahug or IT Park. Then ask the driver to drop you off at JY Square Mall, open google maps and see that it is a short walk from there.
  • By Car: Open Waze or Google Maps then enter “Wilson Street Flea Market, Lahug, Cebu City”

Molave Community Marketplace (MCM)

Willow Hoods envisioned a space where people could test ideas and build a community with the pressure of profit. It is considered to be more than just a place to buy and sell. It is a community based space where thrift, art, usic, and food blend together in a  vibrant weekend street fair. Located along Molave street in the center of Cebu City, MCM is a gathering place where local musicians, artists, food enthusiasts, and curious souls gather and connect to share stories and celebrate creativity. They also offer preloved and vintage clothing, handmade crafts, vinyl records, zines, collectibles, and more. They usually open on Fridays and Saturdays from later afternoon to evening. 

HOW TO GET THERE?

Exact Location: Molave Street, Cebu City

  • By Commute: From Talamban or Banilad, take the 13C or 62B jeepney heading for Ayala Center Cebu. Request that the driver drop you off on Archbishop Reyes Avenue, across from One Montage Tower. From there, cross One Montage and go down Molave Street (just opposite the tower). Turn right at the first junction, then left after passing The Partridge Guest House, and you’ll see the market nearby.
  • By Car: You can get help from the trusty google maps and waze and just input “Molave Street”

Barangay Market Days

This is also known as “tabo” and has designated days of the week when vendors that usually have farmers, fishermen and small scale sellers gather in their respective barangays to sell their goods. These goods are also fresh produce, ukay-ukay, household items, street food and snacks, then handmade crafts and plants. Each barangay has different schedules and are known for different things. Barangay Tisa is known for the street food and ukay-ukay, Barangay Guadalupe is known for often weekend pop-ups, Barangay Lahug is known for the occasional Sunday markets near Wilson Street, and Barangay Pardo has a long standing tabo tradition.

HOW TO GET THERE?

Barangay Tisa 

  • By Commute: If you are in Colon, take a 12G, 12I, or 10F and ask to be dropped off at Tisa Church or Tisa Public market. 
  • By Car: From Fuente Osmena, take V. Rama Avenue then turn left onto F. Llamas Street then just continue straight until you reach Tisa Church or Tisa Public Market.

Barangay Guadalupe

  • By Commute: If you are in Colon or Ayala, take a jeepney ride 06B, 06C, or 06H as these pass through V. Rama Avenue and Guadalupe Church.
  • By Car: From the Capitol Area, drive along V. Rama Avenue heading South. Guadalupe is directly accessible via this road.

Barangay Lahug

  • By Commute: Take a jeepney with the numbers 04C, 04D, 17B, if you’re coming from Colon, Fuente, or Ayala.
  • By Car: From Ayala, take Archbishop Reyes Avenue then continue onto Gorordo Avenue then turn right at Salinas Drive towards JY Square. 

Barangay Pardo

  • By Commute: Ride a jeepney 09F, 10F, or 10H from downtown Cebu. These numbered jeepneys pass through Bulacao, Punta Princesa, and Pardo Church.
  • By Car: Open your trusty google maps or waze and just search for the “Pardo church” or “Pardo Public Market”
