  • Keep distance of six meters from the whale sharks

  • By Bus or Rental: You can ride a bus at the South Bus terminal bound for Oslob or rent a car to drive in the morning and afterwards. The drive is 4 hours one way. 

Sumilon Island and Sandbar, Oslob

Sumilon island is a beautiful paradise in the town of Oslob, a province of Cebu. This fabulous island is a 20-min boat ride away from town. It’s also near Dumaguete city, which makes it convenient for those from Cebu and Dumaguete to explore the place. The island is a marine-protected area and popularly known for its crystal clear waters and white sand beaches and sandbar. 

Your activity on the island highlights a whole day tour that includes trekking, fish feeding, kayaking, fishing, and pedal boating. The tour package includes a free transfer from the mainland going to the island and vice versa. Let’s live our life in pink with the Pink Aserets orchids in Oslob. The best place to complete your croquette aesthetic and model in a field of pink flower orchids that will make you truly feel like you are falling in love in the movies. 

What’s unique about this place is that it is purely nature. These wild orchids grow naturally in Cansaloay, Oslob and no other mountains can behold this sight in Oslob. Another flower attraction in our bucket list. The place has no entrance fee and will continue to grow during the rainy seasons. But do be fooled, no littering!

Exact Location: 

  • By Car: Navigate your location with Waze or Google Maps and search for Cansaloay, Oslob. Ask the locals where you can find the pink aseret flower fields. 
  • By Bus: Go to the South Bus terminal and ride a bus bound for Oslob. Get off at the Cansaloay street, and ride a motorcycle. Be aware that these motorcycle drivers may fool you to pay a high price. 

Tumalog Falls, Oslob

Do you want a perfect blend of adventure and tranquility? Tumalog Falls is easily accessible by road and scooter as it is known for its curtain-like cascades and turquoise waters. It is considered to be one of the best waterfalls in Southern Cebu. 

Whether you visit the waterfalls after your whale shark watching tour or go on a solo trip alone, this location is a must see.

  • From Cebu City: take a bus bound for Oslob at the South Bus Terminal. The drive is 3-4 hours away depending on the traffic. Don’t forget to tell the bus conductor that you will get off at the Tumalog falls. 
  • From Oslob: going to Tumalog falls is straightforward if you are already in Tumalog. You can ride a rented motorcycle for fifty pesos.

Monkey Watching Point, Oslob

Whoops, we got some monkey business! Oslob has another tourist attraction that will surely attract many animal lovers in town. In Sitio Bulak in Barangay Hagdan is a small forest that houses a troop of eighty monkeys. This is labeled as the Encounters of the Unggoys”, a great alternative to whale shark watching. These monkeys have already attracted four thousand people since 2018 and continue to do so until today. 

The Hagdan Oslob Monkey Protectors and Farmers Associations or HOMPFA are the ones who are shouldering the responsibility and protecting the monkeys. They are also the ones who organize monkey-watching tours for interested tourists and visitors.

  • By Car: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and set your destination to Oslob Wild Monkey Viewing in Oslob. You can park the vehicles at the side of the road.
  • By Bus: From the South Bus Terminal, ride a bus bound for Bato-Oslob. Inform the driver to drop you off at the Monkey Viewing in Brgy. Hagdan, Oslob. It’s only a few meters away ahead of Hagdan Elementary school.

The Ruins, Oslob

These ruins are a true testament to our country’s rich colonial history and are nestled in a coastal town of Oslob, Cebu. These historical remnants are a product of the past and offer visitors a glimpse into the Spanish colonial era. The Cuartel ruins are perfect for history enthusiasts and tourists alike. 

The construction started in the 19th century during the Spanish colonial period. The structure was built to serve as barracks for Spanish soldiers. The construction began in 1898 using coral stones sourced from the sea and was carried by Filipino laborers supervised by the Spaniards. The construction was halted due to the arrival of the Americans and it was left unfinished. A silent witness to the past transitions that shaped the country.

  • The Cuartel Ruins is located in the heart of Oslob, just a stone throw away from the Oslob Church. From Cebu City, you can take a bus or private vehicle, which is approximately a three-hour drive. The ruins are easily accessible and well-signposted.
