Inspired by the charm of classic American diners from the movies, the owners of Cocinero have made their vision a reality. Now, it’s becoming a popular spot as customers come in to enjoy the movie-set vibes and tasty menu options that surely brings anyone to either Riverdale or Grease.
A Filipino Name for an American-themed Diner?
The name of the restaurant, “Cocinero,” pays tribute to its Filipino owners, who are also fantastic cooks. They decided to keep this name even while embracing the vibe of a 1950s American diner. Originally, they thought about opening a Filipino-themed restaurant, but with so many of those around, they wanted something different.
Their goal is to transport customers into a classic 1950s movie, where high schoolers sport letterman jackets and puffy hairstyles. So, they chose to create an authentic American diner experience instead!

Heights and Cheese Burger
We can say that this is an absolute must-try! Juicy, flavorful, and piled high with all the classic toppings, it’s our favorite, and not to mention the free fries it comes with!
Cocinero’s Sandwich
This is their signature sandwich and is one of the best that you can choose from the menu! But, if you want other toppings perhaps, then don’t worry as they also have an All-Meat Sandwich, Cheesy Deli Sandwich, and the crowd-favorite Savory Chicken Sandwich!

Exact Location: A7 Norkis Cyberpark, Brgy. Bakilid, A.S. Fortuna, Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines
- By Commute: Take a jeepney that’ll pass by A.S Fortuna and MC Briones such as the 01K route or the 25 route. Tell the driver that you’ll be dropping off at the LBC Express or Jollibee AS Fortuna. From there, you need to walk for about 10 minutes heading to the restaurant.
- By Car: Navigate via Waze or Google Maps and pin “Cocinero Diner” as your destination. You can drive from N Escario St, Archbishop Reyes Ave, Banilad Rd/Gov. M. Cuenco Ave and A. S. Fortuna St to Mandaue City wherein you’ll find the restaurant at the left side.
