Kawaii Rock N Roll: BABYMETAL Comes to PH

BabyMetal finally comes to the Philippines!

If you still haven’t heard of BabyMetal, here is what you need to know. BABYMETAL is a genre defying Japanese band that blends heavy metal and J-pop idol culture, creating a unique style known as “kawaii metal” which also means cute metal. The band was formed in 2010 as a subunit of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, then they’ve since evolved into a global phenomenon known for their theatrical performances, synchronized choreography, and thunderous live shows. 

The members consist of 3 members: SU-METAL (Suzuka Nakamoto) who is the lead vocalist and handles most of the melodic singing and fronting the stage with commanding presence and dance, MOAMETAL (Moa Kikuchi) who “screams” sings her signature high-energy backing vocals and dance her sharp and expressive dance moves, and lastly MOMOMETAL (Momoko Okazaki) the newest member where she provides harmonies, screams, and synchronized dance.

BABYMETAL announced their tour dates and countries they will be performing in, and Philippines happens to be part of that list.

UNIS comes back for a “Fan Concert” 

UNIS, the kpop girl group is heading back to the Philippines in August for a “fan concert” as announced by the event’s local promoter. You should expect songs from their latest EP “Swicy”, fan games, Q&A moments, and plenty of heart melting charms from fellow Filipino members Elisia, Gehlee, and Hyeonju.The eight member group will stage the event which blends the more interactive fan meeting and performance oriented concert formats, at the New Frontier Theater on August 9.
