Let 2024 be a year of travel, and what a great way to start it than with a price drop on plane fares!
The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) reduced its fuel surcharge. The fuel surcharge from Level 6 will be on Level 5 this February. What does this mean? Airlines will be able to get fuel surcharges of P151 to P542 for domestic flights. Meanwhile, fuel surcharges will be an additional P498.03 to P3,703.11.
Last May 2023, fuel surcharges were also reduced to Level 5. Moreover, it even went down to Level 4 in August last year.
Why do airlines collect fuel surcharges? It’s because the additional fees can help the airlines recover fuel costs.
