These Filipino Paralympic athletes never let any obstacle pause the biggest part of their careers in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris!
After several Filipino olympians bagged the prestigious medals from this year’s Olympics in Paris, in comes six Filipino paralympic athletes who will be competing for different games as well.

SWIMMING: Angel Otom
Otom did not only won one, two, but FOUR gold medals during last year’s ASEAN Para Games; therefore, she became qualified for the Minimum Qualifying Standard for this year’s games.
SWIMMING: Ernie Agat Gawilan
As the first Filipino to win a gold medal at the Asian Para Games, Ernie Agat Gawilan has already made history. This year, he is ready to make waves once more as he competes in the swimming events at the Paralympics, bringing his exceptional talent and spirit.
ARCHERY: Agustina Maximo Bantiloc
At 55 years old, Agustina continues to strive to bag the next gold for archery competitions all throughout the world. She was able to win the bronze medal and gained the qualification to join the Paris Olympics 2024, and is currently at 32nd place for the archery’s global ranking. Nothing can stop this archer from hitting her goal, regardless of age or challenges.
TAEKWONDO: Allain Keanu Ganapin
Allain Keanu Ganapin earned his place in the Paris Paralympics 2024 by winning the qualification tournament against India’s Sandeep Singh Maan. His victory confirms his spot in the upcoming games and highlights his impressive skill and determination.
ATHLETICS & JAVELIN THROW: Cendy Asusano
After clinching gold in shot put and javelin at the ASEAN Para Games 2023, Asusano is set to represent our country at the Paris Paralympics. She also achieved a commendable 4th place at the World Para Athletics Championships, demonstrating her resilience and unwavering determination as she continues to strive for gold.
ATHLETICS & WHEELCHAIR RACING: Jerrold Pete Mangliwan
Winning a total of 7 medals in the ASEAN Para Games and 2 medals at the Asian Para Games, this 44-year old athlete is a man of action as he continues to compete for this year’s Paralympics in wheelchair racing.
The inspiring perseverance of these Paralympians serves as a powerful proof to the fact that limits can be both challenged and broken.
