The human body produces chemicals that make us feel better or happier. So, we looked deeper into what could help us have that feeling that leaves our lips smiling, and here’s the answer:

Be happy through rewards to get that spark of DOPAMINE.

You don’t have to go out and win a lottery; a simple way to feel that sense of getting a reward is after you complete a task. For instance, you cleaned your room, cleared your to-do list at work, or completed a self-care activity; all those things can feel rewarding.

Get that SEROTONIN after stabilizing your mood.

Nowadays, it’s easy to get stressed out, and it’s simply a part of our human nature to feel all the struggles in life. So, to up your serotonin levels, it’s essential to look for ways to stabilize your mood. How? Well, as simple as going out to get some sunshine, taking a short hike through nature, and even just meditating for 15 to 20 minutes does quite a wonder. You don’t even have to hum loudly to wake your office mates during a busy work day; stop what you’re doing, close your eyes, breathe in and out deeply, and repeat it til you feel every inch of your body from your fingertips to your toes.

This chemical is not called the “cuddle hormone” for no reason; it is one of the chemicals released by our bodies when we are next to someone or something we love. You can hug your pets or lover or sit next to your crush. By doing so, you’ll improve your heart health. Or if you’re not an avid fan of being close to anyone else, then opt for compliments and give them out to your colleagues; better yet, help others and show kindness because this chemical increases through the matters of the heart.

Settle your pain and worries to up your ENDORPHINS.

Endorphins are known as the “natural pain relievers” of our bodies, and you can get that increased version when you do things that help you forget your pain or lessen it, such as laughing. Who knew that a good comedy is good for your health, too, right? Aside from that, you can also tune in to your favorite songs and albums since listening to music shows an increase in endorphins, except for those songs that’ll make you want to feel sad and add to your pain. You can also do some quick workouts to boost your endorphin levels or inhale some good-smelling essential oils and perfumes; it’s as easy as that!
