Spend your summers lending a hand at these animal rescue centers in the Queen City of the South!
More than 30 million strays are in the Philippines’ streets, but there are only a few rescue centers and organizations in the country. Most of them are non-profit which makes it even a challenge to keep up with the expenses and manpower. So, if you are a Sugboanon who has a heart of gold and can allocate free time for strays or animals in need, then this list is for you!
Mayari Animal Rescue Organization
Also known as MARO, the Mayari Animal Rescue Organization is one of the biggest shelters in Cebu. Located at the heart of Guadalupe, Cebu City, the shelter is run by volunteers. As part of their rescue program, MARO also hosts fundraising events and activities in order to sustain the needs of their rescues.
