On Wednesday evening, the Department of Health Central Visayas (DOH-7) released its official, consolidated data of the COVID-19 cases in the region as of January 19, 2022.
The whole island of Cebu — Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mandaue City, and Cebu Province — recorded 1,426 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, 122 new recoveries, and 7 new deaths. Cebu’s total active cases jumped to 8,350 (from 7,053).

– Total confirmed: 14,592 (+134 new)

Mandaue City
– Total confirmed: 13,098 (+164 new)
– Total recoveries: 11,783 (+15 new)
– Total deaths: 443 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 872
Cebu Province
– Total confirmed: 39,359 (+396 new)
– Total recoveries: 34,605 (+58 new)
– Total deaths: 2,575 (+0 new)
– Active cases: 2,179
