Hidden in the highlands of Busay, this natural attraction rewards visitors with a scenic river trek and a peaceful swimming spot far from the usual crowds. If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure without traveling far, read on to discover why Himbabawud Falls is worth the trip.

A River Trek Through Busay’s Forest
The journey to Himbabawud Falls begins at Lava Mountain River Farm, where visitors register before starting the trek. The trail takes around 40 to 45 minutes, following the river almost the entire way. Expect to cross shallow streams, step over slippery rocks, and walk through dense tropical vegetation. Along the route, smaller waterfalls, towering trees, and mountain scenery make the hike as enjoyable as the destination itself.

What Awaits at Himbabawud Falls
Himbabawud Falls features several cascading levels flowing into a cool natural pool surrounded by large boulders and lush greenery. While the pool is not deep enough for cliff jumping, it is perfect for cooling off after the hike. The peaceful surroundings and untouched landscape make it one of the most rewarding waterfall adventures near Cebu City.

Entrance Fee and Guide Information
Visitors are required to arrange a local guide before entering the trail since the waterfall is accessed through private property. The guide fee is approximately ₱100 per person, price upon writing, although rates may vary depending on the size of the group. It is recommended to contact Lava Mountain River Farm ahead of your visit to arrange a guide. Wearing water shoes or old rubber shoes is also highly recommended, as the trail involves constant river crossings and slippery rocks.
