Kuya Is Looking for Ordinary Filipinos

ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Big Brother” announced the return of its collaboration edition on Friday, Aug. 14, during “It’s Showtime.” Hosts Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Gabbi Garcia and Kim Chiu revealed that the upcoming season will be called “Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0.”

Unlike the first two Collab seasons, the new edition will not focus on celebrity housemates. This time, Kuya is opening the doors to ordinary Filipinos who are ready to share their stories and personalities with viewers across the country.

Auditions Are Now Open

The audition is open to Filipinos around the world who are between 18 and 35 years old. This gives Filipinos living outside the country the opportunity to try out for a spot inside the new Bahay ni Kuya.

Applicants are required to submit a one-minute audition video. The video should include their name, age and location, along with an explanation of why they believe they deserve to become a “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate.

You Only Have Until August 31

Aspiring housemates can submit their audition videos beginning Friday night, Aug. 14. The audition period will run until Aug. 31, giving applicants only a limited window to submit their entries.

For those planning to audition, the short video is more than an introduction. It is a chance to show Kuya what makes them different and why their personality, story or experiences could make them stand out among thousands of hopefuls.

A New Bahay ni Kuya Is Coming

The upcoming season will also introduce a new home for the reality show. ABS-CBN TV production head Laurenti Dyogi previously revealed that the original “Bahay ni Kuya,” which had been used for 21 years since the show’s debut, would close as the program moves to a new location.

The new house adds another change to the long-running reality show. While viewers have become familiar with the original house through years of nominations, challenges, evictions and celebrations, the next batch of housemates will create memories in a different space.

The Collab Era Continues

“Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0” follows two seasons that brought together celebrities from ABS-CBN and GMA. The partnership between the two networks became a major part of the show’s recent seasons, with artists from Star Magic and Sparkle living together inside the Bahay ni Kuya.

Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca were named the Big Winner duo of the first “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition” in 2025. In February, Kapamilya star Lella Ford and Kapuso celebrity Caprice Cayetano were announced as the Big Winners of “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0.”

This Time, It Could Be You

The latest edition marks a return to the kind of housemate search that made “Pinoy Big Brother” a launching pad for ordinary Filipinos with big dreams. Instead of established celebrities entering the house, the upcoming season will introduce new personalities who could become familiar faces to millions of viewers.

With auditions open until Aug. 31, hopefuls now have a short window to make their one-minute video count. After years of watching other people enter Kuya’s house, this may finally be the chance for ordinary Filipinos to say, “Kuya, pwede ba?”
