Why It Was Closed

Inambakan Falls in Ginatilan was officially opened to the public last May 30, 2026 after a temporary closure for rock removal and safety assessment. The temporary closure was implemented to ensure visitor safety after rockfall risks were identified in parts of the trail and viewing areas. Clearing and stabilization work were carried out to reduce hazards and improve access conditions. With these measures completed, visitors can once again enjoy the falls with improved safety standards. Local officials continue to remind guests that natural sites remain dynamic and require caution.

Safety and Visitor Reminders

Visitors are advised to follow all posted signs and instructions from local guides upon entry. Wearing proper trekking or grip-friendly footwear is strongly recommended due to wet and rocky surfaces. Tourists are also encouraged to practice responsible travel by avoiding littering and respecting restricted areas. These simple practices help preserve the natural condition of the falls for future visitors.

Entrance Fee (As of Writing)

An entrance and environmental fee is typically collected by the local tourism office. As of writing, estimated rates range from ₱50 per person, depending on local updates and visitor category. Fees may change without prior notice as part of municipal tourism policies, so travelers are advised to prepare extra budget. This amount supports maintenance, safety, and conservation efforts in the area.

How to Get There?

Location: Ginatilan, Cebu, Philippines

By Car: From Cebu City, take the Cebu South Road heading toward the southern municipalities. Travel through Carcar, then continue passing Barili and Dumanjug until reaching Ginatilan. Once in the town proper, follow signage or use navigation apps toward Inambakan Falls, which is located inland from the main highway. The road includes paved and slightly rough sections near the jump-off point, so a private vehicle or motorcycle with good clearance is ideal.

By Commute: From Cebu South Bus Terminal, ride a bus bound for Bato via Barili or Ginatilan. Inform the conductor to drop you off at Ginatilan town proper. From there, take a habal-habal (motorbike taxi) going directly to Inambakan Falls jump-off point. Travel time varies depending on traffic and stops, so expect a longer journey but a ride along southern Cebu’s seas.

The best time to visit is early morning to avoid crowds and enjoy clearer water views. Bring extra clothes, waterproof bags, and snacks since shops near the falls are limited. Mobile signals may be weak in some areas, so coordinate transportation ahead of time. A short hike is required before reaching the main waterfalls, making preparation important for a smoother visit.
