Dreaming of your next international trip may now feel slightly more within reach. The Philippine passport has improved its standing in the latest global mobility ranking, reflecting gradual gains for Filipino travelers. While the progress is modest, it signals steady movement in the country’s travel access worldwide. Read on to understand what this new ranking means for your future trips.
Where The Philippines Now Stands

In the 2026 edition of the Henley Passport Index, the Philippine passport placed 73rd globally. This marks a two spot climb from the previous year and an improvement from its 79th position in October 2025. The Philippines shares the same rank with Mongolia, reflecting similar travel access levels. The index evaluates how freely citizens can cross borders without securing visas in advance.
What The Ranking Means For Filipinos

For passport holders, the new position translates to visa free or visa on arrival access to 64 destinations. This makes travel planning easier, especially for popular Asian and tropical routes. However, travelers are still encouraged to double check entry rules since some countries may require Electronic Travel Authorizations, visas on arrival, or additional documents. Entry policies can change quickly depending on government regulations.
Destinations Within Easier Reach

Among the places Filipinos can visit without securing a prior visa are Brazil, Cambodia, Indonesia, Israel, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. The list spans Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, and parts of South America. This growing range gives Filipino tourists more flexibility when choosing budget friendly or short haul destinations.
Who Tops The Global List?

Despite the improvement, the Philippines still trails the world’s most powerful passports. Singapore retained the number one spot with access to 192 destinations. Japan and South Korea followed in second place with 188 destinations each. Third place was shared by Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, whose citizens enjoy access to 186 destinations.
How The Index is Measured?

The annual ranking reviews 199 passports across 227 destinations worldwide. Data comes from the International Air Transport Association and is analyzed by Henley & Partners. The study tracks real time visa policies and government regulations to map global mobility trends. For Filipino travelers, the latest results point to gradual but meaningful progress in international travel freedom.
