TNT is looking to defend the crown it captured in 2025, but the squad faces a major gap with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson still recovering from a torn Achilles tendon. Bol’s length and mobility give the Tropang 5G a different look heading into the import-laden conference. Team officials believe his size alone can alter shots and control the paint. His ability to stretch the floor also adds another weapon to TNT’s offense.

From college standout to NBA stops

Before turning pro, Bol made noise with the Oregon Ducks, where he was among the most promising big men in US college basketball. A left foot injury cut short what many expected to be a breakout season. He was selected 44th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, with his rights later moving to the Denver Nuggets. Bol also saw action for the Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns during his NBA run.

Numbers and pedigree

The 26 year old big man, son of late NBA legend Manute Bol, played 202 NBA games and started 45 of them. He posted averages of 6.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks per contest. While those numbers were modest, his unique frame and skill set kept him on the radar of teams overseas. TNT is banking on that upside translating well to the PBA style of play.

Import cast takes shape

Around the league, teams are also locking in their reinforcements for the Commissioner’s Cup set to open on March 11. Justin Brownlee is expected back for Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, while Cady Lalanne will suit up for NLEX Road Warriors. Ismael Romero reinforces Meralco Bolts, and James Dickey joins Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters. More names are expected as the conference draws closer.

All eyes now turn to how quickly Bol can adjust to the physical PBA environment. TNT hopes his height, timing, and shooting touch will translate into immediate impact. With the Commissioner’s Cup nearing, the Tropang 5G may have just added one of the most intriguing imports this season.
