The Philippine Madrigal Singers, recognized by UNESCO as Artists for Peace for “putting their fame and influence to promote cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace,”are one of the most awarded choral groups in the world. For their Madz Aspirancy Program, they are in search of new aspiring members this April 2025!
What It Takes to be a “Madz”?
“Anybody got a map?” The Philippine Madrigal Singers do—and it’s a carefully charted path with three major milestones for those dreaming of becoming an official “Madz.” So, what does it take to join this world-renowned choral group? Here’s a breakdown of the journey:
First, aspiring members begin with the MADZ Aspirancy Program, where their skills, dedication, and potential are evaluated. Those who pass move on to the MADZ Apprenticeship Program, a more intensive phase focused on honing musicality, discipline, and group dynamics. Finally, after further training and mentorship, they enter the MADZ Advancement Program, the final stage before earning a spot as a full-fledged member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
It’s not just a map—it’s a transformation.
